Missions Program – includes support for the church in LaPesca, Mexico, Athens, Greece, World Bible School, the campus ministry at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota as well as several other missions throughout the world each year

Stand in the Gap – ministry to those that need a strong family influence in making life decisions, many of whom are recently incarcerated or coming from a life of drug or alcohol abuse

The Muskogee Church of Christ began serving the Muskogee community in May of 1993. The church started with a core group from the Muskogee area and met in the Civic Center for the first several months of its existence. The first full time staff member hired by the newly formed body was a youth minister. Jim Woodruff served as the church’s first pulpit minister, and later Randy Willingham was hired as the first full time pulpit minister. The church built a new building on land purchased north of the city and moved in to their new home in 1996. Randy Willingham left to pursue a teaching career at Harding University in 2000, and in June of 2001, the church hired Kevin Stewart to become the third pulpit minister. Currently we have three ministers and six elders, with one full-time office assistant, one part-time office assistant and one full-time maintenance man. Nathan Irwin has served as Youth Minister for the past nine years, and John Lindsay has served as Family Minister since 2010.

Muskogee was born a railroad town like most towns of the great American West. But its roots run much deeper than the rails that were laid across the prairie. Its past reaches back to the native people who built their villages and burial mounds along the three rivers that come together just north of Muskogee. Here European and American explorers and fur traders would rendezvous and later build some of the West’s

first trading posts. Known as the Three Forks region, this area was the hub for the settlement and development of what became Indian Territory.

Muskogee, Oklahoma is a city of about 40,000 located in Muskogee County in northeast Oklahoma, about 50 miles southeast of Tulsa and 50 miles west of the Oklahoma-Arkansas state line. Muskogee is situated at the intersection of three rivers, the Arkansas, Verdigris, and Grand, earning us the title of River City.

Located in Green Country, Muskogee is famous for its cultural activities and recreational opportunities.  Steeped in American Indian culture, Muskogee offers two museums dedicated to preserving the heritage of the native people.  The Muskogee Little Theater is a special treat with four plays a year by volunteers from the community.  The area features 32 parks, 13 tennis courts, 6 swimming facilities, 3 theaters, and one public library.  Five major reservoirs, including Fort Gibson Lake, Eufaula Lake, Tenkiller Lake, and Webber’s Falls Lake, provide over 140,000 surface acres of water for canoeing, scuba diving, fishing or swimming.
