The Government of India in the Ministry of Civil Aviation has constituted the Selection Committee for the purpose of selecting Chairperson and other Members of AERA, under sub-section (1) of Section (5) of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India Act, 2008 .

Age limit as on 01.03 .2019

Rs. 80,000 (fixed) [Pre-revised] or, As per the latest revision made by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance vide a.M . No. 8.1/1/2008-IC dated 31.10.2013 has revised the consolidated pay package of Chairperson of Regulatory bodies, including AERA. The consolidated pay package amounts to Rs. 4,50 ,000/- (Rs. Four Lakh Fifty Thousand) per month (without house & car). The Chairperson shall be governed by the terms and the service conditions as per Section 4 and 6 of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India Act , 2008 and Rules made thereunder. Persons of ability and integrity, having adequate knowledge of , and professional experience in, aviation , econom ics , law, commerce or consumer affairs may apply for the sa id post.

Further, any person who is or has been in the service of Government shall not be appointed as a Member unless such person has held the post of Secretary or Additional Secretary to the Government of India or any equivalent post in the Central or State Government for a total period of not less than 3 years . Maximum age limit: 62 years .
