Human jealousy is a vice for it seeks to consume and diminish. It is motivated by resentment, envy and self-interest. The parallel with Eve (Gen 3)

Context: Many people in the Greek speaking world favored a certain stylized rhetoric and attaining to that standard was a mark of inferiority and therefore not worthy of speaking in public.

Our focus ought to be Truth which is found in our realtionship with Jesus

~ who is the truth and is able to set us free. Jn 8:31,32

~ who is the anchor of our soul. Heb 6:19
