PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear Families,

Peace Be With You

It is hard to believe that the year is coming to an end. As cliché as it sounds, “Time flies when you are having fun!” Since starting at Ss Peter & Paul’s this year, I have felt nothing but pure warmth and welcome from all members of this great community. I feel very privileged and proud to be working alongside some very special and talented individuals; students parents and staff. I am extremely grateful for the continued support and encouragement that we have for our young people at SSPP. Thank you for a wonderful and productive school year. I can’t thank everyone enough for your endless hours of volunteering, , reading, organizing, donating and doing whatever was necessary to support students—both at home and at school. Special thanks to our School Advisory Board and Community Engagement Group, Rebecca K in the Uniform shop, our Gardening Volunteers and Classroom Helpers, who all worked tirelessly to provide whatever was necessary to add to our students’ already rich school experience. This experience could not occur without the endless energy, skills and devotion of the SSPP staff. Thanks and well done to an incredible group of professionals. Sadly we farewell Mrs Tracey Baxter and Mrs Kristina Poole. Both ladies have made invaluable contributions to our community and we extend our thanks and best wishes for their future endeavors. A word to SSPP students: Thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year. I am so honored to be your principal; you make me proud. You keep me laughing and young at heart. I am grateful for your joy, incredible insights and amazing talents. Best wishes to our Year 6 Class. You hold a special place in my heart as my first Graduates —please come back and visit. 2020 is destined to be another great year for our school. Plans are in place to continue with and enhance current programs and opportunities for all students—this includes extending our relationships with our local community of Doncaster East and engaging with coaches in Digital technologies and Physical Education. Our association with the Bluearth Foundation will continue next year. Finally, may the peace and love of this festive season be with you and your families. May the holiday break bring you happiness and joy. And may you all be blessed with a holy and precious Christmas. With sincerest thanks and warmest wishes, Trish Vandekolk

SPECIAL THANK YOU AFTERNOON TEA—FRIDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2:45PM

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful support we receive from all our volunteers and Parent Helpers by hosting a Special Thank you Afternoon Tea. If you have helped out at school in any way—classroom helper, library helper, excursions, working bees, gardening, CEG, SAB etc… please come along and enable us to show our appreciation of the contribution you’ve made to this great school and community. We hope to see you all there. FINAL ASSEMBLY & KEYBOARD CONCERT—MONDAY 16TH DECEMBER—2:30PM

Our final Whole School Assembly will take place on Monday 16th December, starting at 2:30pm. This will be a special assembly where we will be acknowledging the contribution that our Gardening Volunteers have made to sustaining our vegie patch and compost heap this year. There will also be performances from students who take part in PMI Keyboard Lessons. We look forward to seeing as many families there as possible. SEMESTER TWO REPORTS

These will be emailed to parents on Friday 13th December.

MESSAGES FROM OUR STAFF Dear families,

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for welcoming me into this amazing community in 2014. Over the last 6 years I have taught several different levels and I have

loved every minute of it! I have enjoyed learning with all of the students. Thank you to our amazing staff who have taught me so much in my 6 years at SsPP.

Together we have created a nurturing and engaging community and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this wonderful school and community.

I would also like to say a special thank you to my 2019 families for their support this year. I feel that we have had the most spectacular year and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for every child. I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing break filled with love, family

and hopefully a little bit of relaxation. Merry Christmas to all families and a happy and safe New Year.

Kristina Poole

Wishing all families of the Ss Peter and Paul’s school community a blessed Christmas and prosperous New Year. I look forward to working with many

families and alongside teachers and students in my capacity as Learning Diversity Leader in 2020.

Best wishes

Claudia Bortolin

To all the dear families of St Peter and Paul’s, I would like to wish you all a very Happy

Christmas, I look forward to seeing you all again in 2020 and hearing all about your wonderful holiday adventures. God bless you all and this wonderful

community. Peace and happiness, Lorraine Rodenberg

Dear Parents and Students, I would like to thank the Room 2 families for all their support both in the classroom and at home this year. The children in Room 2 have formed good friendships and have enjoyed the time they have spent together. Room 2 have shared their good sense of fun with myself and from time to time have surprised me, especially when I have been the topic of conversation! Also the children should be commended for initiating their Loom Bandz fundraising idea. The

children not only made bracelets, necklaces and keychains, but they also organised the selling, managed the money and were supported by their very own mascots. It was very

impressive and this idea then extended to other classes within the school. Well done Room 2, thank you for a wonderful year. I wish you and your family all the very

best for Christmas and the New Year. Best wishes

Susan Harrison.

Dear Families, I would like to thank the children for their interest, participation and enthusiasm in all the activities

throughout this year in Language Immersion. It has been very satisfying for me to see the children learn Italian express their delight as they can connect gestures to the Italian vocabulary. We have had a

wonderful year learning the gestures together! I miei migliori auguri per un Natale pieno di amore e pace, e per tanta gioia, serenità e salute nell’anno nuovo.

My very best wishes for a Christmas filled with love and peace and for a New Year filled with joy, serenity and health. I hope your break will be relaxing, rewarding and renewing, as we farewell 2019

and commence 2020. Buon Natale! Merry Christmas! Buone Feste! Happy Holidays!

of the Gospels message of peace, love and hope. Happy Christmas! Best wishes.

To Ss Peter and Paul’s families, What a privilege it has been to work in the Prep class this year. Being there for all their firsts and seeing them grow

throughout the year. It’s been so good to see the community all come together I

am blessed to be a part of it all. I look forward to a wonderful 2020 with everyone.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year. I hope Santa finds you all.

and happy New Year. Thank you for your ongoing support of this

wonderful school. I feel honoured to be part of this community.

I look forward to 2020 and all it has to offer! Best wishes, Lucy Corelli

Dear parents, friends and students, It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just 14 days away! As the 2019 school year draws to a close, I would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday break. Enjoy the time to relax and unwind with family and friends,

and of course, the break from all that driving! Our time as teachers at Ss Peter and Paul’s is very precious for us all. Our school is like a big family where all the children are known by name and valued. This is what I love most about working at our wonderful school.

In Room 8 this year, we have started and finished each day with our school theme of “Peace be with you”. No matter what has happened the day before, every day is a new day and a new opportunity to grow and

change. To all the Year Six students, please look after yourselves and remember to use your dispositions when facing challenges. To all the Room 8 students, thank you for a beautiful year. I have loved seeing your smiling faces

at the door at the start of each day! Remember to spoil your parents over the holidays! May the love and peace of Christmas be with you all.

MESSAGES FROM OUR STAFF

Dear Community of Ss Peter and Paul’s, As we come to the end of the school year I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our families for

supporting me as the Performing Arts Teacher for the School Concert and then with my transition to a classroom teacher, full time for Year Six. Watching your children grow and develop in their learning this year has been an amazing experience. Getting to know each individual in our school so well is so valuable

and so unique. This has allowed me to enrich my teaching and provide the best learning environment possible, catering to the needs of each student. Year Six families, thank you for your encouraging

conversations and emails always affirming our learning. I know your children will be well equipped to face their next journey. I wish you all a very Holy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Enjoy a restful break,

spending time with your loved ones.

Rosemarie Bucci (Room 12)

To all the families of Ss Peter and Paul’s, Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. It is such a pleasure to be part of a

special community like this one! I enjoy getting to know you all, parents and children, offering support

and developing friendships along the way is why I love my job so much. Good luck to our Year 6 students as they begin their new stage into secondary school and I look forward to welcoming our new members

to Prep next year! Take care and enjoy the holiday break.

Peace be with you, Ange Wallis

Dear Families and friends, I consider myself lucky this year, as specialist teacher, I have the opportunity to work with each and every child, teaching a subject that they all enjoy. Watching their faces light up with excitement when they learn

something new. I have also had the privilege of working with the preps every week and it has been so fulfilling watching them grow and develop over the year.

We are all like a family here at Ss Peter and Paul and my family even began here! I met my husband when he was hired to be the maintenance man. The students here have seen me grow from a Miss to a Mrs to being a mum and have shared my excitement, and the parents and staff supported me along the journey. Thank you to the whole school community for your kindness, wishing you all a safe and relaxing holiday period together

filled with laughter and happiness.

Caitlin Burgess

Dear Families and friends, Wishing you all a holy, loving and peaceful celebration this

Christmas and hoping you enjoy a happy and safe New Year.

I would like to thank the families of this wonderful school for the privilege to participate in your children’s learning journey. Not a day goes by that I am witness to amazing

successes no matter how great or small. I wish the Grade 6 students happiness, resilience, health and the desire to continually acquire new knowledge. I wish them the best of luck in their days ahead. May God

bless them all. Best wishes,

Anita Calvitto

My sincere thanks go to all of the Ss Peter and Paul’s community for embracing me as your Deputy Principal. I have certainly learnt many things and always look for opportunities to improve. Being the

Visual Arts teacher keeps me in touch with every single student which is of utmost importance to me. A very big thank you to all the gorgeous artists who always work hard to create fabulous art pieces.

I am celebrating Christmas with my beautiful extended family of 34 (to be exact) at my house for lunch then off to dinner with my husband’s family. I love spending time with those close to me.

My wish for all of you is that you have a safe and healthy holiday season. May God’s blessings be upon you as we are reminded of Christ’s birth and his humble beginnings. The Away in a Manger lyrics refers

to this, ‘no crib for a bed’ and ‘Little Lord Jesus no crying he makes’, to help us understand that God gave us his only son to live as an ordinary human, not as a king. This Christmas I am going to try and

take moments away from the hustle and bustle to reflect on this. Please look after each other over the holidays and I am so looking forward to seeing your precious faces in 2020.

MESSAGES FROM OUR STAFF & SCHOOL ADVISORY BOARD

Dear SsPP families, Last night was just incredible. It was so wonderful to see the whole SsPP community join together for what

was such a joyous Christmas event. It almost goes without saying that when schools, families and communities work together our children benefit in a multitude of ways: socially, academically, physically and emotionally. I truly believe SsPP is a perfect example of this. With that in mind I would like to thank and

acknowledge the following people.

Trish: the principal that never rests. Her passion for SsPP is obvious, she is ever-present, completely dedicated, skilled and so kind-hearted. We are truly blessed to have her as our school principal.

All of our teachers, support and administrative staff: who continually and effortlessly go above and beyond their call of duty.

Fr Jerald: his compassion and commitment to guide and educate our children and school community about the role of faith in leading loving, caring and forgiving lives.

School Advisory Board parents of 2019: Paul, Daniel, John, Mark, Roberto and Sandra thank you for being an open, honest and guiding voice representing the parents of SsPP.

The Community Engagement Group: Sharon, Bianca, Clare, Denise, Jennie & Belinda. The hardest working mothers I know! They dedicate so much of their time and resources so that our children have opportunities

that reach far beyond the curriculum. Bec in the Uniform Shop: often being the first friendly face that families meet. She provides so much more

than just uniform advice. Jim and the gardening group: they are completely selfless, always positive and a wealth of gardening

knowledge. We are so fortunate to have them beautify and care for our veggie patch. Last but certainly by no means least, ALL of our parent and grandparent volunteers: those that help with school banking, literacy help, G6GF coordinators, class reps, 2nd hand uniform shop coordinators, those

that help out at working bees, sausage sizzles, cake stalls, science days, sports carnivals, school productions, sacramental and Christmas events....the list could go on and on.

THANK YOU! It has been an honour and privilege to be the chair of the SAB in 2019, a member of CEG and be able to

participate in so many community events. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you all in 2020 for another exciting year ahead.
