TRIPLE-WIN

STUDY CLUB

PROGRAM

2015-2016

CELEBRATING

24 YEARS OF

EXCELLENCE IN LEARNING

Page 4: Mindfulness… the art of being present€¦ · Company, the nation’s largest independently owned dental distributor, and Clarion Financial, a sister company offering financing

Dear Members:

I would like to welcome you back to another remarkable year of the Triple Win Study Club. It is hard to believe that we will be entering our twenty fourth year which could be an all time record for Seattle Study Clubs!

As your Director it is my “charge” to provide you with excellent programming from year to year. We have been very fortunate to have outstanding speakers throughout the years and will continue to do the same for this coming year.

By now all of you know of the many benefits of belonging to the Seattle Study Club so I will not bore you with another list of benefits. You can certainly access the Seattle Study Club website (www.seattlestudyclub.com) for any further in depth information about the national organization.

As always, we will continue to meet monthly from September through May. We will start off the year with our annual kick-off dinner and finish with our annual year end celebration!!

In between these two events we will provide, once again, a phenomenal learning experience for you.

Concerning tuition for this coming year there will be no increase and therefore it will remain at $2,200. As mentioned, in previous years, our tuition is still on the low side compared to many other clubs especially considering the amazing programs that are offered to you.

As in years past, if you have a staff member or lab tech attend a meeting then you will be assessed separately for their meals. This is the only fair way of handling this situation.

As in previous years our program is fully accredited by the Florida Board of Dentistry provider #50-2070. We also have a provider status with the Academy of General Dentistry Code #216420.

The tuition of $2,200.00 is kindly requested and due no later than August 31, 2015. The club would greatly appreciate your filling out the enclosed form and returning it to the Triple Win Study Club with your tuition payment.

As always, I look forward to spending another outstanding year of learning with you as your ever so dedicated director of the Triple Win Study Club.

To view the TWSC program for 2015-2016 go to www.alpertdentalimplants.com and click on the tab in the upper right corner of the home page. You can then print out the program if you so wish.

See you in September!

All my best,

Andrew M. Alpert, DMD

“DAZED AND CONFUSED ABOUT INVESTING IN YOUR PRACTICE? DON’T

BE!”

Clinicians’ practices are their biggest and best investment opportunity. Yet, during their career, most dentists make the same critical mistakes when investing in their business.

The key to smarter investment decisions is a strategic practice investment plan that takes the dentist through the arc of their career. Building a plan enables clinicians to take advantage of the right opportunities, maximize their return on investment, and

improve the quality of their dentistry. Here’s the good news: creating a plan isn’t difficult and it’s never too late to start. Clinicians only need an overall vision for their practice

and career, a few hours and a little coaching. Using case studies, participants will learn how a long-term plan focused on the three central inputs (skills, technology and facility) positively impacts a dentist’s personal and professional bottom line. More importantly, a

proactive plan can help every dentist achieve his or her financial and business potential—as well as Zen-like happiness.

“Restoratively Driven Implant Failure: Dentistry’s Dirty Little Secret - Prevention, Maintenance, and

Technical Solutions.”

Many techniques and products have been developed specifically for cement retained implant restorations; some are potentially detrimental to implants, with dentists not fully aware of the issues and implications of using an inappropriate material or method. To date no protocol exists for cementing implant-retained super-structures. The goal is to examine these from a scientific based perspective and present up-to-date and as of yet unpublished research data that will be used to develop a suitable protocol for clinical practice. This lecture explores many of the problems encountered with cement selection, application techniques andgives clinical guidelines based on research projects currently being undertaken.

Do not restore another dental implant, until you have seen this lecture.

“The Art and Science of Digital Technology - the Transformation of the Dental

Profession” We are in the midst of a professional change. Technology intrudes into biology and dental specialties. Boundaries shift or disappear. A new world is emerging at the intersection of classic dentistry and digital technology, and everything we think we know might just be incomplete. This lecture demonstrates and reviews the latest advances and wants to challenge us to pause and rethink modern dentistry. It provides the dentist and dental technician with the background information on the rapidly changing digital dental technologies like CAD/CAM that allow you to make a decision on what to use and how to gain the greatest benefit. The presentation will highlight customized products together with integrated digital solutions. Matching several different digital technologies offers benefits like reduced treatment time, more predictable results and increased confidence of the clinician. Cutting edge biomimetic products blending digital technology with organic tissue clearly mark the latest developments in this segment.

Making the Right Choice: Emerging Trends in Technology & Materials & Techniques • Are you overwhelmed with some of the new dental technology options introduced

to your practice? • Do you ever find yourself thinking of what material to have your lab use to restore

an implant adjacent to a prepared natural tooth? • Are you confused by all of the new materials choices to restore teeth and

implants? • Do you want to make your implant practice more predictable and enjoyable?

Evidence-based success has resulted in increasing utilization of dental implants in the treatment of all forms of edentulism. With this success, we are often faced with advances in technology, materials and techniques that promise to provide increased productivity while improving clinical outcomes. This presentation will answer the above questions and highlight several areas in today’s practice where recent advances in technology and/or materials have had a positive impact.

“Mindfulness is the capacity to shine the light of awareness onto what’s going on

here and now.”
