Gen.

“The problem is that they allow mayors now to des-ignate their own chiefs of police, so ‘yung mga corrupt

mayors are also selecting their own corrupt chiefs of police. That’s the main rea-son, they no longer respect the constitutional mandate that the police is supposed to be controlled by the National Police Commission,” sulti ni Montano.

Unsa bay tuyo niining tanan? Natural lamang aron matunaw ang atong mao mao nga kalibutan diin kita nanimuyo.

Apan ngano man nga ato man kini nga tapuson?

Dili man kinah-anglan nga mopatay kita

kinsa man ang mabilin. Pastilan kini nga pan-

ghitabo.

“The Philippine Army, as part of the community, has been serving and im-proving the health condi-tion of our less fortunate brothers in depressed areas where social and medical needs are rarely felt,” Lt. Col. Cuerpo said.

He explained that purely military operations is in-adequate solution to our decade-long problem on insurgency. We need com-plimentary and concerted effort to address the is-sues on poverty, injustice, illiteracy and illnesses to achieve a lasting peace in the province.

Plant a Tree on Valentine’s DayBy: Anna Myzel Sanchez Cosrojas

GLOBAL Warming, Typhoons/ Storms, Floods, Green House Effects, and Earthquakes these threatened our Mother Nature. “Trees are life.” The only reason such a statement makes sense now because of the growing consciousness among people all over the world that the whole creation is an intricate web of life and the uncontrolled destruction of trees and forest will bring on the destruction of the very thing that sustain ( life, water, and air)- hence the de-struction of people themselves. Kibawe Central School answers Mother Earths call.

The Kibawe Central Teaching Staff with the leadership of our school Principal Elvira S. Arabejo, Student Teachers of different colleges, The pupils, Stakeholders with the Barangay Officials of East Kibawe, Kibawe Bukidnon headed by Hon. Mario Actub. And Kasilak Foundation Inc. planted trees last Thursday February 14, 2013. Kasilak Foundation gives 500 pieces of Narra seedlings for planting. Pupils brought with them gallons of water and bolos. And so with the Teach-ers, Student Teachers, and Stakeholders.

With a smile of every pupil’s innocent faces and with their hearts that is full of love on Valentine’s Day. They share it on their own special way of loving Nature.

IN light of the negative per-ception caused by the re-cent NPA attack on the Del Monte office at Camp Phillips in Manolo Fortich, Bukid-non, Dahilayan Adventure Park operator, Engr. Elpie Paras, disclosed that the famous adventure tourism landmark of Mindanao will remain open to the public and expects visitor arrivals to return to normal over the long weekend. Tourism facilities which include Asia’s longest dual zipline, Pinegrove Mountain Lodge, Forest Park, Saddle

Ridge Camp and Dahilayan Gardens are 15 km away from the scene of the incident. Based on media reports, the NPA group only passed via the Camp Phillips to Dahilayan road in their with-drawal to Brgy. Bagalangit several kilometers away. Civilians including Dahilayan Brgy. Capt. Sahonlay who were picked up on the road were immediately released unharmed as soon as the armed group reached their disembarkation point. The surprise raid on Del Monte and Dole facilities in

Bukidnon was the first of its kind and considering the NPA press statements, the attack was a result of its advocacy against unrestrained large scale agricultural plantation development and logging which contributed to the recent flooding disaster in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities. Security measures for the safe ingress and egress to Camp Phillips, Dahilayan and surrounding areas, are now on highest level and tourists should not worry about their safety.(PR)
