After completing the audience categories task within the Planning and Research I have now got a clear idea of what I want my target audience to be. I want to target teens/young adults. Also as my genre for my music magazine is hip hop/rap I will only be targeting certain groups within the teens/young adults. This is because my genre has a more targeted approach in the fact that the music people might listen to in this genre wouldn’t be something you would perhaps see come up in a pop charts section Again after looking back at my previous task I have used my questionnaire and the analysis for it to help me with my first ideas for what kind of photography I hope to look at and use when I finalise the shots I am taking. From the questionnaire I found out that the mid shot, close up and wide angle shot were the most popular types of shot that people want to see in my magazine. Personally I would defiantly go for the mid shot as it is a easy and simple way to shoot a model to get across a lot of different When it comes to having all the different conventions within the front cover and double page spread I want to include all of the important ones such as the mast head and cover lines etc.…so for the mast head I want to use a very san serif style of font to relate to the genre as hip hop/rap is not shown as formal and I don’t want to give that kind of effect to my magazine as that would attract a more upper class target audience which is not what I’m going for. I want to demographics to play a bigger role (mainly on the front page) in telling the target audience exactly what this As for the contents of this music magazine I also used my questionnaire results to tell me the kinds of articels that people would personally like better. The most popular response was a news/gossib article. So I have chosen to go for that as then I have clearly used my other research and planning tasks to help me come up eith my initial ideas. If I wanted to take it any further I would want to stay away from the more mainstream styles of articels including things like top charts and things like that INITIAL IDEAS FOR MUSIC MAGAZINES

After completing the audience categories task within the Planning and Research I have now got a clear idea of what I want my target audience to be. I want to target teens/young adults. Also as my genre for my music magazine is hip hop/rap I will only be targeting certain groups within the teens/young adults. This is because my genre has a more targeted approach in the fact that the music people might listen to in this genre wouldn’t be something you would perhaps see come up in a pop charts section in a more mainstream music magazine. Therefore from this I can see my target audience fall under the individualists categorise. Also that I feel this music magazine will target mainly the middle/middle-upper class.

Again after looking back at my previous task I have used my questionnaire and the analysis for it to help me with my first ideas for what kind of photography I hope to look at and use when I finalise the shots I am taking. From the questionnaire I found out that the mid shot, close up and wide angle shot were the most popular types of shot that people want to see in my magazine. Personally I would defiantly go for the mid shot as it is a easy and simple way to shoot a model to get across a lot of different demographics that is related to my genre. I would have to play around with the close up and wide angle shot and personally I don’t think a close up would show off the demographics as much and I want that to play a bigger role in my magazine

When it comes to having all the different conventions within the front cover and double page spread I want to include all of the important ones such as the mast head and cover lines etc.…so for the mast head I want to use a very san serif style of font to relate to the genre as hip hop/rap is not shown as formal and I don’t want to give that kind of effect to my magazine as that would attract a more upper class target audience which is not what I’m going for. I want to demographics to play a bigger role (mainly on the front page) in telling the target audience exactly what this magazine is going to be about. I like this idea as it is a different way of expressing what information you need to get across to the audience to make them want to read the magazine, but personally I think it is a more modern way of doing so.

As for the contents of this music magazine I also used my questionnaire results to tell me the kinds of articels that people would personally like better. The most popular response was a news/gossib article. So I have chosen to go for that as then I have clearly used my other research and planning tasks to help me come up eith my initial ideas. If I wanted to take it any further I would want to stay away from the more mainstream styles of articels including things like top charts and things like that as that would not reach out to my target audience and make them want to readr my music magazine.
