Subject: Release of Building 14 for Unrestricted Use

Dear Sir:

We request the removal of Building 14 from our NRC license and the release of the area for unrestricted use. Only 1-125 was used in this building. The area was surveyed for fixed and removable contamination. The survey data is provided.

The specific use areas were surveyed using a meter grid pattern with each grid surveyed with a uR/hr meter and smears taken. The survey included all floors, counter tops and walls. Minimal amounts of radioactive material have been used in this building over the past 2 years. The area was primarily used for storage of prior used materials that were decaying. These stored materials have been cleared of radioactive material and discarded. These areas are currently at background levels and free of removable contamination above the trigger limit. Adjacent areas were also surveyed with the uR/hr meter and a few general wipes taken to confirm that the areas are radiation free.

I believe this information demonstrates that the area is radiation free and can be released for unrestricted use. If you need further information or have question please contact me at 815-370- 6538.
