Introduction-Members• In your opinion what is the most important thing to address for dairy development for Uttarakhand?• Chitra (Anim Husb Dep): Feed is most important constraint for dairy development in UK, existing institutions should
work together for this• Bisht (VPKAS): Agricultural land is very scarce (13.5%) and only 10% of it is only irrigated land. So concentration on
fodder production in wasteland is important.• Rawat (GBPIHD): Making available the green fodder is most important• Ravishankar (CDO Almora): I am very new to this field but I can get idea in all field and I can facilitate the
implemenation.• Prem Kumar (Forestry Dep): 70% is forest in this area, dairy dependant on grazing, we have to assess the carrying
capacity of forest.• Saxena (Ajeeveeka IFAD): ?• Samant (Ajeeveeka IFAD): Breed improvement and promotion of AI is crucial.• Arun (Aanchal): Farmers should be working as society for selling the milk-marketing is important.• GC.Pant (Inhere): Fodder management is important• Sonali (Inhere): Hope to believe that we can improve dairy, ownership of programme or project by farmers is

base for linking institutions.

• Institutional strengthening: To strengthen use of value chain and innovation approaches among dairy stakeholders to improve feeding strategies for dairy cows.
• Productivity enhancement: To develop options for improved feeding strategies leading to yield enhancement with potential income benefits.
• Knowledge sharing: To strengthen knowledge sharing mechanisms on feed development strategies at local, regional and international levels
