Moving on from SPIRITUAL

Steps to growing into maturity

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to

maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God

Go through Spiritual birth ( John 3:5 ) move on to

Spiritual growth,

1 Peter 2:1-25 ESV So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all

slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ and move into

Spiritual maturity.

You have to grow into the knowledge

We are all Equally valuable to GodGalatians 3:28 ESV /There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave

nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

But our Maturity and revelation is at different levels.Ephesians 4:13 13  until we all attain to athe unity of the faith, and of

the 1bknowledge of the Son of God, to a cmature man, to the measure of the stature 2which belongs to the d

fullness of Christ.

 Some are not able to receive it yet!

Some people and churches get stuck here and never move on

1 Corinthians 3:2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to

receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, 3for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

Why is this so and What do we need to do to get past this point?

6 Hindrances to Growth

1. You really just don't know where to begin.2. Facing the truth about who you

are.....or......who you are not isn't pretty.3. Maintaining change is virtually impossible

when your environment isn't set up to accommodate change.

4. Spiritual Bondage5.Pride :You are at a place where you are sure

you know it all6:You are not willing to sacrifice idols and

worldly ways.

Understanding Growth

 For starters, growing spiritually is not becoming righteous. You were made righteous by your faith in Jesus Christ by receiving salvation. (Romans3:22)

      Spiritual growth is growing closer to God and becoming mature in your understanding about yourself and God. (Hebrews 6) When it comes down to spiritual growth, we must make choices that reflect choosing growth or choosing religion.

If we choose the comfortable place of religion the pain, the idols, the bitterness, and the bondage just build on top of each other as we go through life hardening our hearts.

Your attitude will steer your growth

Hebrews 5:11-14 Amplified Bible

11 Concerning this we have much to say which is hard to explain, since you have become dull in your [spiritual] hearing and sluggish [even [c

]slothful in achieving spiritual insight]. 12 For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others, you

actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God’s Word. You have come to need milk, not solid food.

13 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]!

14 But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.

What is the “MILK”

The Basics of what we believe is that we need to accept Yahshua as the sacrifice for our sins and that He is the only way to the Father and Heaven John 14:6

We need to get Baptized in water Acts 2:38

And that we need to get filled with the Holy spirit (baptized with the Ruach Ha Kodesh) Acts 2:38

If there is any doubt about this: you can not move on....

Growing to more solid spiritual food

Recognizing that we need to get revelation in scripture to get a better understanding of who God is.

Hosea 4:6 (KJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:

because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Identifying enemy strongholds in our livesAnd by being honest with ourselves to DEAL WITH

THEM!

Christian maturity requires a radical reordering of one’s priorities,

Changing over from pleasing self to pleasing God Learning to obey God “Regardless of oneself”The key to maturity is consistency, “this is to find your

Identity in Yahshua” To know who you are in SpiritPerseverance in doing those things we know will bring us

closer to God. These practices are referred to as the spiritual disciplines

Becoming a Disciple requires detailed attention to the Word

Reverences

Ephesians 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into

Him who is the head, even Christ

Colossians 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him

in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

2 Timothy 3:16  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,

for correction, and for training in righteousness,
