ACTIVE WARM-UPS
Before practice, baseball players start out with warm-ups to prepare for the game. Below are
warm-ups you can do on your own. Remember, all of these exercises are designed to be an easy
warm-up for your body — no need to push too hard!
Here are a few exercises you can do during the game:
10 jumping jacks for every Double Play
10 squats for every Home Run
30 second jog in place for a Triple or Double
10 arm circles forward & backward during a pitching change
Here are a few exercises you can do at home:
Toe Touches 15 seconds – feet spread apart, rotate grabbing
ankle/foot for duration.
Athletic Position Squat 10 seconds – shoulder width apart (skip position),
squat down keeping heels flat on the ground.
High Knees 10 yards – stay tall and look straight ahead while jogging,
bringing knees up to chest.
Sideways Skip 10 yards – almost like a shuffle, skip sideways
Skip 15 yards – straight ahead, moving your arms
