Milan Meeuse Oude Heerlenerweg 366133 BS Sittard, The Netherlands0031 6 [email protected]

During my Bachelor studies at TU/e I obtained a broad knowledge in architecture and its technological emphasis. Specifically, architectural expression of detail and construction belong to my major fields of interest. I enjoy free-forms and sculptural forms which produce an architecture that stands out, with regard to the urban context. My favourite thing in design and architecture is attention for detail and aiming for excellence.

IndividualObjective:

Philosophy | design | construction | detailing

Starting as a concept through the philosophical descriptions of space by Geroges Perec, the objective of the theatre is the interaction between people: Acting. Situated in the Dutch Polder landscape, the building challenges the flat surroundings and artificial state of the scenery.

Multidisciplinary Project:

Link the City

Set in an 19th century industrial site in the city of Den Bosch, the complex provides a business hotel and dwellings amongst other public functions. In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team the design uses a strong urban context to enrich the area with multi-layered public spaces.

Tectonic exersices:

Ise-Jingu analysis

The analysis emphasises on the Ise Jingu Grand Shrine: a Japanese Shinto shrine which is rebuild every 20 years to honour the sun goddess Ise. The building is interesting in its outstanding craftsmanship and secrecy. The wooden structure lacks any kind of metal bindings: every joint is a complex interweaving of precisely-cut wood.

Trans-Form:

Material & Expression

The transformation of form and material is centralized in this seminar. Through different materials and forms, the expression of various spatial objects is explored. Particularly important is the craftmanship involved with the objects: The way of making determines the expression of the material and vise versa.
