Migration guide of RTU560 release 10

1 Changed 560CSR01 address handling Slot address handling of 560CSR01 racks in release 10 was changed compared with previous releases. Only 560CSR01 racks configured with rack address 1 have to be adapted as described in this chapter.

Slot addresses of 560CSR01 racks are now counted from right to left starting with 1. In release 9 counting were started with 0. To set rack address 1 to a 560CSR01 rack DIP switch S1-2 has to be enabled and S1-1 disabled (In previous re-leases S1-1 was enabled and S1-2 disabled). All other rack types are not concerned by this change.

Migration of rack address handling in RTUtil560 project is done by RTUtil560 of release 10 while opening project files of previous releases the first time. No user action is required.

2 Upgrade CMU firmware release 9 to release 10 Prerequisites:

- RTU560 CMU type is supported by release 10 firmware

- RTU560 CMU is running and direct access to web server via TCP/IP is existing

While upgrading a RTU560 with CMUs running with release 9 the following steps have to be done:

- Open web server and select ‘Others’ -> ‘Firmware (HTML)’ Firmware File Manager included in RTU560 CMU firmware release 9.7 and older does not support the re-lease 10 CMU firmware file

- Upload CMU firmware using ‘CMUXX-Firmware’ option

- If firmware was successfully uploaded, release 10 firmware is running after a CMU reset

While starting up release 10 firmware for the first time following steps are performed by firmware:

- Conversion of user account file available on CF-card from release 9 to release 10 format

Important notes:

- Migration of the available user account file can only be done once with a CMU. That means using another CF-card of release 9 and updating to release 10 with the same CMU is not possible.

3 Downgrade CMU firmware release 10 to release 9 Prerequisites:

- RTU560 CMU type is supported by release 9 firmware

- CF-card of CMU to downgrade was previously upgraded to release 10

- CF-card must be generated for the same CMU type that has to be used in release 9

- RTU560 CMU is running and direct access to web server via TCP/IP is existing

While downgrading a RTU560 with CMUs running with release 10 the following steps have to be done:

- Open web server and upload CMU firmware release 9 using ‘Firmware File Manager’ or ‘Others’ -> ‘Firm-ware (HTML)’

- If firmware was successfully uploaded, release 9 firmware is running after a CMU reset

Important notes:

- CF-cards generated for release 10 CF-cards can not be downgraded to release 9. Please order CF-cards of the release used in the project.
