Storyline Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents' business trip. Gil is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel. He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing. Then, an old car stops and the passengers invite him to go a party and sooner he realizes that he is back to the 20's, where he meets his favorite writers, musicians and artists. Gil's daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he's about to marry.
Midnight in Paris is the first Woody Allen film shot entirely on location in Paris.
Principal photography began July 2010.
The film opens with an extensive, 3 and a half minute postcard-view
montage of Paris, showing the usually and iconic sites.
In the movie, there are some scenes were in 1920's, which we can tell from the background and the costume.
Here I'm going to show some examples of what a woman in 1920's would dress like.
Gil (played by Owen Wilson) went back to the 1920’s through time travel, and met some greatest people in the world. This is my
favorite part. Because It’s interesting to see these actors
imitating those greatest people.
F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald
Dali
Eenest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein
There is a character I love. It’s Picasso’s lover Adriana (played by Marion Cotillard), the seductive
1920 s muse. Adriana is romantic, idealistic, ′feminine and a dreamer, but also exquisite. She’s a delicate muse to artists and intellectuals in the 20s.
So, in conclusion, Midnight in Paris is a sweet, simple story filled with themes about
life and love, which you will definitely find yourself enjoying from start to finish – as long as you don’t take the time travel plot
seriously.
