From Your Pastor As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an
evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:5
We kicked off our Reach Spring semester this past Monday evening. I was
thinking about how we get so programmed in our methodologies. I’m glad we
have had a designated time (Monday evenings) for Outreach (prospects), In-
reach (shut-ins, members), and Upreach (prayer). I’m thankful for those who
come out so regularly. However, I want to encourage our whole church to be
evangelistic. I think Paul is telling Timothy (and us) to do things in an evangel-
istic way. We need to minister, serve, build relationships, and do other activi-
ties in an evangelistic way with the goal of being able to share the Gospel of
Jesus Christ.
I have been impressed with the various avenues of outreach that LBC has
been involved with in the past or is currently involved in (Reach, Upward, DNow,
community outreaches, VBS, bus ministry, radio ministry, back to school sup-
plies, Wild Game dinners, Christmas/Easter musicals, revivals, children’s minis-
tries, FLC events, Trunk or Treat, Golden Lion’s Day, etc.). These events/
activities certainly help us build relationships with our community with the
hopes of making inroads with the gospel.
Statistics indicate that most people who visit a church were invited by a
FRAN (friend, relative, associate or neighbor). We often have the greatest
impact amongst those with whom we have established relationships. What
friend, relative, associate or neighbor do you need to invite to church or have a
gospel conversation?
We talked on Monday night about thinking out of the box in regards to
evangelism. I was just brainstorming some ideas that would stimulate our evan-
gelism. We could have some services this summer in our community, we could
have a free movie night once a month in the summer, we could take advantage
of community activities (Tobacco Festival, parades, etc.), offer marriage and
parenting seminars for our community, offer pre-marital counseling, work more
with our schools, determine a way to welcome people when they move into the
community, send out baptismal invitations when somebody is being baptized,
advertise more with yard signs, t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc., do a better job
of greeting and following up with our guest. Let us not forget to pray fer-
vently for our community and especially the lost who are all around us.
Will you take two minutes and just consider what you can do in an evangel-
istic way that might allow you or someone else the privilege of sharing the Gos-
pel? Let us continue to pray for laborers for the harvest. Let’s also consider
what areas the Lord would have us laborer. I believe God will honor our evan-
gelistic efforts!

NURSERY HELP NEEDED: If you would like to volunteer to serve in the nursery, please contact Bobi Middleton, either in person, by phone, or via email. Bobi’s phone number is (859)339-4070 and email address is [email protected]. Also, our greatest area of need in the nursery is for Wednesday night volunteers. There are typically fewer babies on Wed nights, so it shouldn't be too difficult! Also, current workers can email me to get a copy of the sched-ule for April- June, or paper copies will be available to pick up in the nursery.
LIBRARY– If you would like to serve as the church librarian (or a few of you together) please let the Nominating Team know.

MAKING DISCIPLES… (Questions kids ask)
Question: How does God get His power? Where does He get it from?
Answer: Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You… (Jer. 32:17).
We hear a lot about God’s power. Take a look at our verse. God’s almighty power made the heavens and the earth and there is nothing too hard fro God. Well, I want you to learn a big word … omnipotent. The Bible teaches that God is omnipotent, meaning He is all powerful. He is Almighty God, He is Lord, the Creator of all things, and He never gets tired! There is none like God. Although we can’t completely understand His power, we know He is infinite in power (meaning there is no way to measure it), and all power ultimately comes from Him and the source of His power never becomes exhausted. God can do anything He wants whenever He wants, and nothing is impossible for Him. I am so glad that I serve a God who is all powerful!
