Prepare Tractor1. Park tractor on flat level surface and engage park

brake.

2. Turn engine “OFF” and remove key. Place wheelchocks and wooden blocks in front of and behind bothfront tires.

3. Disconnect negative () battery cable.

4. Remove right rear wheel and fender.

5. Remove rockshaft position and draft sensing levers.

6. Remove right hand control console.

2. Check the location of fittings on power beyond cap.

3. Check the backup ring (G) on fitting (D).

NOTE: All elbow and fittings contained Oringsbefore installing oil lines.

4. Install backup ring (item 24 on parts list) on fitting (F)(item 21 on parts list) and Orings (item 22 on parts list)on fittings (D) (item 20 on parts list) and (E) (item 14 onparts list). Install fittings (D––F) on power beyond cap.

5. Tighten fitting to specification.Specification

3. Install joystick control on joystick bracket using two capscrews (E) and nuts (F). Tighten bolts to specification.

4. Hold flats on joystick pistons with a wrench. Installcables in pistons and tighten threaded cable bushings(A) 1/4 turn.

5. Install clamp halves (B) around cables and secure withtwo M8 x 35 mm cap screws and nuts (C), and one M8x 50 mm cap screw and nut (D). Cable sleeves shouldextend approximately 6.35 mm (0.25 in.) above clamp.

6. Install SCV cable bracket (E) and secure with four M6x16 mm cap screws (F). Tighten to specifications.

7. Secure joystick control cables to midmount SCV withclevis pins (H) and spring clips (I). Tighten jam nuts(G) without disturbing the position of the midmountSCV spools and making sure that the joystick pistonsremain level.

2. Remove spring pin (E) and clevis pin (C).

3. Loosen cable jam nuts (B).

4. Adjust cable jam nuts so hole in cable clevis is alignedwith hole in SCV spool. Clevis pin (C) should movefreely when holes are properly aligned.

5. Tighten cable jam nuts (B).

6. Install clevis pin (C) and spring pin (E).

7. Disengage mid SCV joystick lock (B).

StartUp Procedure

CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure canpenetrate the skin causing serious injury.Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure beforedisconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tightenall connections before applying pressure. Searchfor leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect handsand body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately.Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgicallyremoved within a few hours or gangrenemay result. Doctors unfamiliar with this typeof injury should reference a knowledgeablemedical source. Such information is availablefrom Deere & Company Medical Departmentin Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

1. Start engine and check for leaks.

2. Check for proper transmission/hydraulic oil level. Addas needed.

NOTE: Anytime the brake system has been openedfor service (lines disconnected, etc.), it will benecessary to bleed air from the brake system.

3. Connect a clear plastic tube on left brake bleed screw(A). Drain into container.

4. Start engine and run at slow idle to keep brake valvereservoir full of oil.

5. Pump brake pedal to obtain highest pedal position andhold. Loosen bleed screw 3/4 turn and slowly push onbrake pedal. Before brake pedal completes full pedaltravel, tighten bleed screw.

6. Let pedal return slowly to top of stroke. Continue thisoperation until flow of oil in plastic tube is free of airbubbles.

7. When flow is of oil is free of air bubbles, hold pedaldown and tighten bleed screw.

8. Remove plastic tube.
