Mid-Atlantic Conference & Deal Making

Registration8:00 am – 6:30 pm

General Session – Untapped Markets – Overlooked Profitable Opportunities10:00 – 11:00 amDespite decades of focus on underserved markets, a critical issue for many communities across the nation, particularly in inner cities, is the lack of retailers and other businesses in those areas. Yet the University of Georgia’s Selig Center for Economic Growth estimates U.S. consumer buying increased by 97 percent since 2000 and 30 percent since 2010 with the biggest gain being in minority markets. This suggests that perhaps many retailers and developers are making uninformed decisions about the market potential in these communities, therefore overlooking profitable opportunities. Join us for a breakfast panel discussion where you will learn:

1. What and where are the untapped markets

2. How to identify an untapped market and properly estimate the potential buying power of that market

3. How having the right people on your team can help you engage and adequately respond to markets outside of your portfolio
