In this newsletter we will still be providing the monthly crime figures but we will also be telling you what local officers have been doing in your area. We will also list what priorities for your area that we are concentrating on plus any dates for your diary. During Covid-19 we have had to stop any form of face to face meetings which has meant the monthly drop-in surgeries have had to stop. These surgeries are very important to listen to your concerns about what is happening in your area, therefore in next month’s newsletter I am going to be announcing an online voting platform using social media. We are going to use your votes to help set the quarterly priorities whilst we are waiting for permission to restart the face to face meetings. Having your say is very important to us, so keep an eye out for August’s newsletter.

Welcome to the new look monthly parish newsletter. In this newsletter we will still be providing the monthly crime figures but we will also be telling you what local officers have been doing in your area. Over the last couple of months, the local policing team have been concentrating on anti-social behaviour (ASB) that has been occurring at Bawsey Country Park with groups of people attending the park but then acting irresponsible by drinking alcohol and then swimming in the lakes, leaving litter and used disposable BBQ’s, playing loud music and generally shouting and swearing. Officers have also been patrolling the Leziate lake which is privately owned but large amounts of people are trespassing to go swimming in the lake. It is astounding the number of teenagers that are being dropped off by their parents and then left unsupervised at the lake which is unsafe and has very limited rescue equipment, they are putting their lives at risk. The Beat Manager and local officers have also been patrolling Wotton Park, Wootton Woods and the immediate surrounding areas due to the increase of ASB by a small minority of young people. The local policing team would like to hear from anyone who has seen or knows anything about this ASB and who is responsible. If anyone has any concerns or has noticed an increase in ASB within their area please get in touch with your local Beat Manager so we can look at adding these areas to our patrols. The more details you can give us the more it will help us.
