OptimumOptimum AAuusstraliatralia - has been successfully manufacturing specialized Products including concrete

curing compounds and coatings for the civil and commercial construction industry for more than 10 years.

Optimum Australia was the FIRST Company in Australia to introduce Hydrocarbon Resin curing

compounds to major civil projects.

During the past 7 years Optimum Australia have strived to formulate products that are safe to use,

environmentally friendly and consistently still performs above the requirements set out by Standards and its

customers. Some of these products currently being used today include XDS, Optek BCP, Optek AC and

Optekl NS1. These Products still have no equivalents available in the Industry.

Over the past 4 years Optimum Australia have undertaken an extensive research program to develop and

manufacture unique concrete enhancement and repair materials as a result of a comprehensive market

investigation, research and development, lengthy testing and trials.

Primarily the Company’s goal was to establish and develop products that were Environmentally and User

Friendly, Exhibit High Performance in harsh working environments and above all be 100% compatible with

Concrete. The entire curing and concrete enhancement/repair ranges will be produced in the Canary Islands

for European, Middle Eastern and African markets and in India for the Asian region from 2004.

USES

DESCRIPTION

OPTEK H is a blend of Nitrates and Nitrites blended in aqueous solution. The OPTEKTM H Liquid is designed to penetrate the concrete and chemically activate available unhydrated cement. This reaction has the benefit of bonding the existing concretetogether whilst reducing the pore size and actively promoting new cement growth in shrinkage cracks.

OPTEKOPTEK™™ LL ISIS TOTALTOTALLLYY CHCHLLORIDEORIDE FFREREEE..

ADVANTAGES

• Can be applied on a damp or dry surface.• Concrete will retain a natural appearance.• Does not contain solvents or polymers• Concrete can be put into service immediately after application• Can be applied regardless of temperature.

• Dust proofing of factory floors, car parks etc• Reinstatement of poorly finished concrete• Assists in curing concrete.• Waterproofing of roof decks, balconies etc.• Enhancing under developed features of concrete.

BENEFITS

• W ill p r o tect the rebar from corrosion• Minimal preparation of the concrete to be treated• W ill reduce the pore size of the existing concrete.• W ill p r o m ote further hydration of existing cement• Has the ability to promote “new growth” in shrinkage cracks

PREPARATION

1. The surface to be treated should be cleaned and free from any type of coatings. (epoxy, paint etc).Any loose, flaking or spalling concrete must also be removed. A pressure wash at this time is advisable.

2. To open the pores of the concrete and allow adhesion it is required that an acid wash is done.A general acid wash contains 20lts of water to 1lt of hydrochloric acid. It must be remembered to add t h e acid to the water not the other way around.

3. Using the correct clothing and equipment apply the acid solution to the concretesurface to be treated. Allow the acid to ‘work’ on the concrete for 5-15mins. After this time pressure wash the concrete surface.

APPLICATION METHOD

OPTEK H is a ready to use product and should not be watered down.

OPTEK H can be applied by mop, broom, brush, or spray to the area to be treated at a rate of one litre per 3-5 square metres.

Allow 4-6 hours then apply a second coat.

Do not allow OPTEK Hto form a coating on the surface of concrete.

For OPTEK Hto work successfully it must penetrate the concrete surface.

The treated concrete surface can be put back into service immediately after the final application of OPTEKTM H

All tools and/or equipment used in this operation should be cleaned with water

CRCRIITICTICAALL PPOINOINTTSS OONN TTHHEE AAPPPLPLIICATCATIIOONN OOFF OPTEKOPTEKTM HHa. The concrete to be coated must be free of silanes, siloxanes,

impregnation treatments and coatings.b. Always use the correct safety clothing and equipment. c. Ready to use Product - DO NOT ADD WATER.d. Do not allow a coating to be formed.e. Ensure OPTEK Hpenetrates the concrete.
