Microcontroller and Touch screen based wireless library book catalog system. Introduction: A library catalog is a register of all bibliographic items found in a library or group of libraries, such as a network of libraries at several locations. A bibliographic item can be any information entity (e.g., books, computer files, graphics, cartographic materials, etc.) that is considered library material (e.g., a single novel in an anthology), or a group of library materials (e.g., a trilogy), or linked from the catalog (e.g., a webpage) as far as it is relevant to the catalog and to the users (patrons) of the library the icon system appreciate touch screens that make automation systems user friendly. Microcontroller and Touch screen based wireless library book catalog system.

Introduction:A library catalog is a register of all bibliographic items found in a library or group of libraries, such as a network of libraries at several locations. OBJECTIVE:The main aim of this project is to automate the library. Nowadays the members have a membership card and if they take any book they need to entry the book ID and their ID number to the librarian. But our module make this system entirely different and also convenient for   the member. This  project   is  designed around a Microcontroller as a Control Unit . This proposed system uses a device touch screen technology.

Abstract: The project mainly aims in designing completely automated books catalog system in library with the help of touch screen sensor and a graphical LCD to control and provide a user-friendly environment of the user to register the selected the book effectively through wireless. The library catalog will be displayed automatically on the GLCD display and we can directly select the book with the help of touch screen.

Touch screens provide fast access to any and all types of digital media, with no text-bound interface getting in the way. Faster input can mean

better service. Using a touch interface can effectively increase operator accuracy, reduce training time, and improve overall operational efficiencies, a properly designed touch interface can improve each operator's accuracy. Touch screens are practical in automation, which has become even simpler with touch screen the icon system appreciate touch screens that make automation systems user friendly.

Description: The device consists of a microcontroller, which is interfaced with

the input and output modules, the controller acts as an intermediate medium between both of them.

So the controller can be termed as a control unit. The input module is nothing but a touch screen sensor, which takes

the input from the user and provides the same to the microcontroller.

The output module is the RF module. The controller also takes the responsibility to display the book catalog information on the graphical LCD.

At the receiving end the selected books will be displayed on GLCD.

WEEKLY REPORT

Week 1:- Group Formation

In first week, our teacher Miss. Parul Saini asked us to form groups of 3-4 students. These students would perform the project together as a team and will be evaluated as per the group performance. So, we formed groups according to our choice.

Week 2:- Project Statement

In this week, we were asked to choose one of the projects from a list. Each project was assigned a mentor so that we could take his/her help regarding the project.Hence, we decided our project as MICROCONTROLLER & TOUCH SCREEN BASED WIRELESS LIBRARY BOOK CATALOG SYSTEM.

Week 4:- Study of Project Statement

In this week, we went through our project and the components required for it. We consulted our project mentor Mrs. Harpreet Kaur for verification of the different circuit diagram’s and implementation, viability of the project.

Week 5:- Assembling the Circuit Components

During this week, we studied the functionality of each circuit and assembled the circuit components.We started the implementation of the circuit on breadboard in order to test the functionality of circuit diagram.
