TECHNOLOGY DRIVES PROJECT
Photography evolves from lenses, camerasto the full control of the eye as a MACHINE.
After the use of optic nanotechnology in surgery + for detecting glaucoma contactsavoiding BLINDNESS, the eye becomes fully connected to computers. the retina + its connection to the brain + the hypotalamus[memory] is now utilized for whole extirpation of visual archives such as still images, videos + TERGIVERSATIONS of graphics.
The EYE - as capture of everything - advances not only as visual but breaking barriers transcending to new senses + generating new scenarios which triggers a revolution - unstable + distressing.
Conventional life was changed - urban confrontations conducted a CRISIS on suburban + on rural surroundings + destroying any obsolete + dull form of presence + education.
More machines + technology were derived from this renaissance period culminatingon HYBRID + AuTOMAIL human beings withimproved physical + mental skills + stillcarrying the emotional essence yet nowdistorted by new realities.
There was always an opposition to this change which transformed society splitting it into several associations - MATRICES.

When the public photographic
project began in 2006, there were
more than 200 thriving darkrooms
dotted around London; when
completed in 2009, there were
10. The darkrooms that have sur-
vived are quiet + business is slow.
The London labs where you could
drop film off have all but disap-
peared. Photographic galleries
all over Europe continue to close
from Soho in London to Friedrich-
strasse in Berlin, abandoned to
digital + reused for storage + retail.
The coming of the digital camera
has swept all before it, making
the whole process of photgraphy
simpler, less labour-intensive, less
costly + more technically creative.
Constant epiphanies seem to ap-
pear such as the realisation that
the world of work,particularly a
craft like darkroom printing, has
becoming homogenised in the
digital era. Even just a few years
ago, every profession had its own
machinery, its tools, its language;
NOW WE ALL HAVE COMPuTERS.
END OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC ERAAt this period when many are about to retire,
the only solution + path is to adapt to survive.
We do digital printing + retouching now but it
is not like it used to be.
Magazines + advertising firms do not have the
budgets for film. Contact sheets have become
a thing of the past like Polaroid film + the rest.
All is now contained on a disc or memory hard
drive where most pictures will not be seen.
Only a handful of people in the world still shoot
on film. But the world is digital now + it will
evolve further following Moore’s Law at uN-
PRECEDENTED SPEED.
The world is simply too fast-forward for the
craft + the clutter - the roll of film, the negative,
the chemicals, the contact sheet - of old-fash-
ioned photographic printing. The darkroom,
photographic galleries + photographic film
have gone the way of the analogue recording
studio, the cassette player, the walkman, the
vinyl record, the ipod when a new invention or
gadget is produced + become beloved by an
incredibly small group of obsessives. The mel-
ancoly beauty -OBSOLETE BuT EMOTIONAL-
vanishes without coping to the real situation of
photography, technology + the world.

A contrast of shadows, light, atmospheres from all sides which are opposed + different to each other but excelled in the cohesion for the building + its users, as the internal aspect involves greater depth. External envelope performsthe task of shell, access + transport, natural energy provider in the objective for a clear layout + practicality.

DESIGN WORKS IN ISOLATION + IN CONTExT
Light gaps from fassade system allow design to be bright in its majority. The northwest fassade is crucial on this attempt. Between the quarters contained by frames there are 8 m in charge of orth daylight, although it is slightly interrupted by 4 m of overlapped storage zone which consists of translucent walls to continue letting energy in.
Services + maintenance lay on the NE with an obstruction of illumination in the middle of the fassade + double mesh system closing adjacently. In similar composition, SE side center of frame allows movement throughout the whole design.

SEcTIoN:
- 2 aluminium mesh sheets overlapping [45 mm] containing on SW + NE [parallel sides] rotoblades [150mm dia] 2 steel cylinders system with engine + battery in between both
- 2 glazing panes [55 mm]
- titanium H beams
- stainless steel vertical frame [32 m] starting at 8 m high continuing the fortress z-profile external wall structure which is divergently curved as shell of deflection
froNT ELEvATIoN zoom:
SW + NE feature between meshes rotoblades which allow air distribution where the ventilation shaft [hyperparaboloid effect] reaches less.
Strategically placed om the quarter fassades with few interaction with 30 m tall parametric atrium.
7 x-COMPONENT FACTOR RESPONSIVE FASSADE MESH
variation of width + aperture on 7 type of curved X-sheets. when all elements are joined vertically + horizontally the diameter is always the same + depending on location + function of room / spacethe tube container of rotoblade is placed for air distribution + connection.
Design to fit + weld + nteract with each other, leading to a range of different patterns on external envelope / memebrane + to distinct forms of shadows + haptic effects inside the structure.

void utilised for its whole illumination + the best air circulation. the hyperparaboloic structure containing the roto-engines provides power + energy enabling the building to survive on its own if it is required to in isolated scenarios.
