I took inspiration from the typefaces used in Las Vegas for signs and neon lights. I felt that when it came to producing a product from this quote, a doormat fit well, as it is the last thing you see when you walk out of the door.

I created a logo for myself in a style in which I can recreate especially easily and quickly by hand, plus a style in which I think shows my personality and the manner in which I work. For use on business cards, website etc I have produced a pattern that shows my creativity, and a personal quirk in that I make paper windmills oddly enough all the time with scraps of paper. They have occasionally come up my past design work and felt that it shows my
positivity and happy-go-lucky nature.

I produced an iPhone app that would work by overlaying hand-drawnww text on photos you have previously taken, or a photo you can take while within the app. These quotes or sayings have been chosen to accompany the pictures to convey the message the user would like to share, whether it’s a funny ‘fail’ picture, or a photograph ‘just to make them smile’.

As part of a street team, promot-ers would take pictures of peo-ple smiling and laughing with a polaroid camera. The idea is that the picture is a keepsake, which is then placed within the packaging above and given to the individual or group. The above is a pillow box design, that would also contain a QR code for the website.

This is how the app would look in context. Having the choice to pick between your own existing photos or to take a new one.Once you have chosen a photo, the app comes with a four different choices of hand-drawn text, in which you swipe across to change and once you have chosen would then give you the option to share to Facebook and Twitter, amongst other social networks.

These are greetings cards, to buy for an expectant couple, pregnant, or congratulations on a newborn. I’ve kept the colours vibrant, and contrasting with one another, so that they should stand out within a display.

The idea of producing a ‘make your own’ paper child after making the 3D scene I photographed for the greetings cards. Keeping it to the concept of papercraft, I chose to use a brown paper base for most of the design. I used this also in conjunction with the idea of packaging paper, and the concept of my logo, in which is a mimic of a ‘fragile’ stamp.

Logo/Brand developmentHearing aid audiologist
Working with an individual client I re-designed a logo for a self-employed hearing aid audiologist. I produced the fi rst (bottom left) as a more modern version of his previous. But after more discussion he realised he wanted a more lifelike hummingbird, so I came up with the above, and top right. It was interesting to fi nd out how to work with clients, and how to tranfer their
ideas through to your creative skills
