UniSA Community Clinics UniSA operates eight clinics which offer professional and affordable physiotherapy, podiatry, mammography, exercise physiology, dietetics, general practice, psychology and legal advice to the general public. Our clinics also play an important role in giving our students crucial real-world experience, under the supervision of qualified staff, helping prepare them to enter their professions full-time.

As part of our innovative teaching and learning practice, UniSA Community Clinics are a valuable resource for our whole community.

Enterprising spaces We’ve got some exciting plans for the future with new learning spaces in health, science and innovation – all in the heart of Adelaide’s booming West End. We are pleased to announce UniSA’s Enterprising Spaces Campus Plan 2015-2018. The plan outlines our approach to build facilities that will support the student learning experience, create a community of ideas and focus on spaces that support new models of learning.

Great HallThe Great Hall will become the University’s heart of the community. Featuring a purpose-built amphitheatre, the Hall will be home to UniSA Sport, graduations, exams and events. It will also form a new hub for sports and fitness at City West with a fully-equipped fitness centre and swimming pool, including lap and recreational areas.

Health Innovation BuildingThis exciting new space will form part of the South Australian health and biomedical precinct, creating a number of new health research, teaching and community engagement opportunities. The building will be home to the Centre for Cancer Biology, the ICT Innovation and Collaboration Centre, and the Science | Creativity | Education Studio (Sci|C|Ed) – a new space for students to innovate, create and collaborate.

Tip: Students should apply to SATAC using a personal email address – one they can access after high school.

Tip: Our year 12 results release video can help students understand this process.

Tip: Students can watch the SATAC offers release video to learn more about what to do once offers have been made.

Now is the time for your students to decide. We encourage students to explore our website, read our brochures and visit UniSA during Open August. It’s important for students to research what’s involved in their preferred program such as past ATAR cut-offs, prerequisite and assumed knowledge subjects, and bonus points.

unisa.edu.au/future

Armed with their list of choices, students can now apply to UniSA on the SATAC website. It is important that students consider placing their preferences in order of passion. Our step-by-step instructional video shows an example of how to submit an application. Feel free to show this to your students or email them a link to the video.

It is important that students respond to their offer. Should your student not get the offer they were hoping for, they can choose to accept the offer and still be considered for their higher preference in another offer round.

Applicants may also still be eligible to apply for alternative pathways. Students should contact us to discuss their options on (08) 8302 2376.

After your student accepts their offer, they will be sent their student login details to get started on the UniSA network and begin using their email.

University begins at Orientation Week. O-Week includes campus tours, library presentations and workshops. There are also specific networking events and briefing sessions for particular program areas.

day in the Life of a UniSA graduateEach year UniSA offers high school students the opportunity to experience a day in their dream career with our ‘Day in the Life of a UniSA graduate’ competition. These experiences offer students career tips and advice, the chance to gain real insight into an industry, and helps prepare them for university. This year students undertook the following experiences – Present the Weather, Build a City, You Be the Judge, and Sport Science with Elite Athletes.

Present the Weather Four students went behind the scenes at Channel Seven with weather presenter Amelia Mulcahy. These students were able to see how a news bulletin is created, learn about working in television and watch the weather broadcast live.

Our journalism and professional writing program is renowned for producing high quality graduates who work in the media across Australia and internationally. Our highly successful program incorporates professional writing to ensure graduates are well equipped to work within the rapidly changing media landscape.

You be the Judge Ten students were given the opportunity to explore the District Court of South Australia, hear from the Chief Judge and present their arguments in a court environment. UniSA graduate Olaf Borutz, Associate at W Legal, also met with the students to provide them with some honest and beneficial advice.

Studying law at UniSA gives students the skills that enable them to manage people and achieve possible outcomes in areas such as mooting, negotiation, witness examinations, and student placements in legal and other professional settings.

Build a CityUniSA graduate Marc Voortman hosted two high school students at the District Council of Mount Barker. Students learnt about key decisions planners make for the community that can influence the way families live.

UniSA has Australia’s longest running urban planning program. Our Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning introduces students to the concepts of sustainable development, spatial planning, urban design, property markets and community consultation.

Sport Science with Elite Athletes Four students spent the day at Port Adelaide Football Club shadowing UniSA graduate Stuart Graham, Head of Sport Science, at a main training session. Students were able to observe how sport science is applied to the AFL and explore the club’s facilities and see the players train.

At a time when new discoveries are being made every day and awareness of the importance of physical and mental health, food and nutrition is at its highest, our human movement and clinical exercise physiology graduates are in high demand.
