Phonak Uk is a subsidiary company within the Phonak group. The Phonak Group consists of 21 subsidiaries, employing more than 2000 people in major companies around the world. The Phonak Group is work leader in the design and manufacture of high technology hearing instruments, and has a first class reputation in both the Audiology and business community.
Individual Responsibilities:
To work alongside the Channel Marketing Manager in the execution of tactical channel specific marketing and design campaigns.
To produce all Graphic Design material across a range of different media with pioneering execution for each campaign. Design work consists of B2C and B2B projects such as Newsletters, Direct Mail Campaigns, Practice Brochures, Local and National press Adverts, Brand Stationary and Logo design and identity, POS material, Posters, Website and Web banner creation, Shop window and interior design etc.
To produce, design and develop promotional material and literature across all channels as required. Winning over many clients from larger companies, due to the extremely high standards of our creative design work.
To maintain, protect and enhance the Phonak Group brands and ensure adherence to Corporate guidelines.
To run and maintain the Phonak Partner loyalty scheme. This requires being a key contact for clients in the execution of activities via the Phonak partnership programs and added value services (Independents and Nationals).
Ability to build business and marketing plans for individual clients across all channels. This includes the use of Demographic programs to understand the market and to
purchase relevant data, increasing the success rate of direct marketing campaigns and market communication.
To liaise with PR, Consumer and Trade publications to ensure the required messages are delivered and communicated.
When designing for the company itself I must work with Company Directors and the senior management team to understand the various Marketing projects, briefs, deadline and budget constraints.
Present finalised ideas and concepts to clients. To understand and work to set marketing budgets for both the company and the
independents throughout the Company's financial year. Prepare jobs for both print and web and liaise with internal and external customers
where necessary. Adhere to customer’s individual brand identities. Offer a high level of customer service and support to help build consumer loyalty. To develop the added value services and partnership programmes to develop new
and innovative ways to offer new value to all channels. To update the added value of web services including, Phonak web portals,
demographics online, lead generation programs.
Other Responsibilities:
To travel to and attend Phonak client meetings, events and necessary exhibitions and conferences.
To work within agreed timelines and budgets. To manage relationships effectively with third party agencies including creative,
media, print and database, ensuring cost efficiency and creative sourcing. To manage the representation of Experian and Selectabase in order to further
understand the B2C market. To coordinate all activities regarding Open Days. Any other duties appropriate to the business and it’s development.

Within this year I decided to fulfil a life long ambition of mine to travel. In this year I managed to visit a total number of 12 countries, often involving myself in volunteer work as well as logging a photographic account of my travels for visuals.

As one of the fastest growing web and graphic design companies in the North West of England my role within the EMS team was challenging and exciting. Projects for both web and print are undertaken in a fast moving competitive environment. Working with high profile, global and national clients means that creative flair and high design standards are required on a day-to-day basis both when working within a team and individually. Requiring excellent organisational skills and the ability to solve problems easily and understand the importance to build firm relationships and provide faultless customer service. My duties need a focused business developer and a capable networker, able to work autonomously and have exceptional personal management skills. In this climate prioritising the work-load effectively is a key aspect to success alongside excellent time management and organisational skills with the enthusiasm to carry out any task. Highlights include designing both the current St Helens Rugby League mainsite and many E-commerce shop sites.
My roles included:
Tasked with developing and improving the aesthetics of the design for Web. Placed in control of design for major websites.
Head designer for all creative print work including logo and brand identity for a wide range of clients. Producing any design work over different forms of media for EMS themselves.
Coordinating closely with Executives, actively soliciting new clients and nurturing existing client accounts, ensuring their needs and requirements were not only accommodated but surpassed.

Following attainment of my A-level certificate, I embarked on a BA honorary degree in Graphic Design & Multimedia to formalise both my design skills and my creative experience. Via live client briefs, addressing realistic commercial projects, undertook the study of web design, typography, CAD, the print process, illustration and multimedia applications. Throughout the course many levels of design over a range of media was executed consisting of multimedia work using Flash animation, web page design and user navigation all accompanying a large output of print materials. A dissertation on an individually selected design topic was also completed and submitted.
