Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help” James 1:27
The Mary Isamali Foundation 2009 Report
Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help” James 1:27
In Africa, every 30 minutes 27 children are orphaned by AIDS.
Every Hour 55 children are orphaned by AIDS.
Today 1323 children will become orphans. Since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, over 14 million children have lost one or both parents. These children become outcasts in a society that sees HIV/AIDS as a disease thatʼs taboo. Rejected by family, friends, and society; they are left to fend for themselves. These children, left at the bottom of society
are forgotten and ignored; uneducated they often live in irreversible
poverty with little hope.
This cannot be the end of the story.
There Must Be Something That Can Be Done.
Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help” James 1:27
In that Quest to find a solution, The Mary Isamali Foundation was born.

Mission
M.I. Africa, incorporated as the Mary Isamali Foundation (M.I. Africa), is a Christian
501c3 non-profit organization. We are committed to actively building schools and
bringing health awareness to impoverished areas throughout Africa and providing
children with a quality
education.
We believe that through
making a quality education
available to children,
coupled with health
education, this will foster an
environment where the
chains of poverty,
helplessness and disease
can finally be broken.
Through a quality education,
an environment can be
created where a passion
can be ignited in a childʼs
heart to pursue a vision to
make positive changes in
their communities.
Why are our schools different? As well as teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. We
will teach life skills to enable the children to grow into adults that contribute positively in
their communities.

Vision
Our vision is to create a place where children donʼt have to pay school fees; to enable
citizens with knowledge on Diseases such as AIDS, diabetes, and malaria so they can
prevent them; to create schools where children feel safe; to create schools where
children can heal; to create environments where children will be able to concentrate on
learning and not concentrate on hunger.
Project Obudu
Obudu is located in South-
East Nigeria.
It is located just miles away
from the world renown
Obudu cattle ranch, a great
tourist destination with so
much beauty that it is easy
to not see the devastating
effects AIDS has had on
the surrounding
communities. The school in Obudu will be built in village where there is great need for a
school. With the school comes hope for not only children that are AIDS orphans, but
hope for every child in the area.
Our school in Obudu will create new jobs in the community. We will strive to educate the
community as a whole in basic health issues in hopes of enabling growth in their
communities.

We are excited about project Obudu, as it is a fulfillment of M.I. Africaʼs mission. M.I.
was born out of two individuals given the chance to receive an education, instilling the
importance of an education in their children and igniting a passion in the hearts of their
children to make positive changed in their environment.

project scope.
Neighbors Educating Neighbors Program
Our “neighbors educating neighbors” programs aims to educate village natives on various health issues and providing them with the tools to pass on what they
learn to their community. This program educates on basic health issues, for example,
how to prevent AIDS,
CPR, nutrition, and
how to recognize
diabetic shock.
For about 25 dollars a
month we train natives
from different villages
across Africa on
different preventable
health issues that are
plaguing areas in
Africa. They will go to
schools, churches, or

the market square and talk to the people in their communities about these issues.
Why this is different? People in small village are more likely to listen to people that can
communicate with them in their language, who they trust and respect.
This is an important initiative that will work towards getting to the root of preventable
health issues such as AIDS and diabetes. When health issues are communicated from
a friend in a way that one understands many barriers are broken and hearts are willing
to listen, learn, and practice what they hear.
Container Projects
To reduce the costs of the cost of building we will do different fundraising projects for
things such as schools supplies, clothes, and non-perishable food in M.I. Africa clubs,
churches and community centers. With doing container projects everyone is able to feel
involved with the whole M.I. Africa mission.
We believe in meeting immediate needs. At our M.I. Africa club we encourage its
members to donate school supplies, books, toys, non-perishable foods and clothes that
we can ship to an area of need.
If immediate needs such as clothing and food are not met a barrier (hopelessness,
fatigue) is formed that inhibits the children and the communities from learning.
