THE VISIONEER A Project Update for Our New Vision Campaign Partners April 2012 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE The “rough-in” mechanical work is nearly complete in House “B” and much of the drywall has been installed. The shingles are also complete on both homes. Rough-in mechanical work con- tinues on House A. Don Snyder Excavating plans to return and begin site-work grading in April. The projected completion of con- struction is August 11th. House B is designed in a “Cottage Style” while House A will have an “Arts and Crafts” motif. (House A is closest to the road.) Bay windows will provide lots of natural light for residents as they enjoy meals at the dining table. The table, seating 14, will go here. “What level of care will be

offered in the Green House

homes?” One of the persistent questions about Green House homes has to do with “who” will live there. Perhaps because the envi-ronment is so different than a typical nurs-ing home, many believe the Green House homes are assisted living or independent living. However, the homes are for those elders who require “licensed” or “skilled” nursing care. These are elders who require 24 hour care. When the homes open, 20 elders from floor 1 and 2 at Mennonite Memorial Home will move to the two Green House homes.

New Vision Campaign Update

Total gifts, pledges and designations total

$1,790,000.

The Campaign Goal is $2.1 million.

The main entrance of House B (Cottage Style) is beginning to take shape as the siding is installed. Some stonework will also be utilized in various places.
