Oil thermostats and gauge adaptorsUse one of these thermostat adaptors if you already have an oil cooler kitfitted. The standard thermostat has push fit connections for use with rubberhoses. It completely seals off the oil radiator until the oil temperaturereaches 74°C. The full flow thermostat has 1/2” screw in connections for usewith stainless hoses. It works by diverting the oil through the thermostatuntil it reaches 74°C.

The temperature gauge adaptors fit into an oil line and allow the fitment of anoil temperature gauge. For this you can also choose between push on connectionsfor rubber hoses or screw in connections for braided stainless steel hoses.

Alloy sump and baffle trayThis sump will help cool the oil as the aluminium alloy gives better heattransfer than steel and the additional fins on the bottom provide increasedsurface area for more heat transfer. The sump also features a cast in baffle tokeep the oil around the pick up, preventing oil starvation and surge underhard cornering. The sump has a thick flange to add stiffness to the bottomof the engine. An optional baffle tray can be added to prevent the oil mistthat can occur in the crank case of an engine, particularly at high RPM, thisplate ensures the oil returns to the sump. Oil catch tanksIf you modify the breather or induction systems of your car for either roador track use collection of oil should be considered. An oil catch tank is amust for competition use to prevent oil spillage on the track and it is alsodesirable to prevent oil vapour settling around the engine bay. These catchtanks are designed to be connected to the crankcase ventilation system,catching the oil vapour, allowing the air to vent through the special cap.

Revotec fan kitsKeeping your MG’s engine running at optimum temperature will ensureyou get the best performance and economy. Revotec and Moss Europe haveco-designed these high quality bespoke fan kits for the MGB. Using thelatest high efficiency fans with adjustable electronic controllers these kits aredesigned to replace the standard original mechanical fan, reducing the loadon the engine, noise and improving both power and mpg.

Unlike other fan kits that use a universal mounting system through theradiator core, these Revotec kits have bespoke laser cut brackets that mountdirectly to the radiator mountings. The brackets are bright passivated to givea smart appearance and prevent corrosion.

There are two types of Revotec fan kits available for MGB 1962-76 models.Cars produced from 1962 to 1970 featured a long water pump. Due toclearance between the water pump pulley and radiator these cars must use a‘blowing’ fan mounted in front of the radiator. Later cars, from 1970 to1976, have a short water pump and use the ‘suction’ fan mounted behindthe radiator. Negative earth only.

Revotec electronic fan controllersThese units use the latest type of surface mounted electronic controllers tosense the temperature of the water in the cooling system. The controllers aredesigned to fit neatly into the cooling system without using capillary probesor radiator mounted clip on devices. Kenlowe fan kitsKenlowe electric fans are a replacement for the standard mechanical fan.Fitting a Kenlowe fan will reduce the engine warm up time, preventexcessive cooling and allow the engine to operate closer to its optimumrunning temperature.

Removal of the standard fan will help to reduce engine noise, and will helpimprove power/mpg. A manual override switch is available separately,allowing the fan to be operated at any time giving maximum control of theengine’s temperature.

Lightened flywheelsReducing the rotational mass of the engine gives improved engine response,it can pick up or lose revs quicker, meaning quicker acceleration and moreengine braking. Our steel lightweight flywheels (weigh only 9lbs/4kgs) areprimarily for race use where improved weight reduction can be fully usedand appreciated, but they are also suitable for road use.

Uprated clutchesFor a road car the standard clutch is adequate, although for fast road/sportand competition work the clutch should be uprated. Uprated clutches givegood reliability for road cars but with a slightly heavier pedal pressure.

5 speed gearbox conversionsOur 5 speed conversions provide everything you need toachieve modern day motoring comfort and performance.

The ultra-smooth action of the five-speed gearbox is aninstant benefit. With synchromesh throughout the gear

range and a quieter reverse gear the vibration and hassle aretaken out of town driving. With similar ratios from first to fourth, theperformance through the gears is unaffected, and the added benefit of a0.82:1 fifth gear gives a reduction of approximately 1,200rpm at maximumspeeds, giving faster and more relaxed cruising.

The conversion is based on the Ford T9 gearbox, it was chosen for itssmooth gear change and robust reliability and spare parts availability. Theconversion involves minimal cosmetic or structural changes and the speciallymodified gear change maintains the gear lever in the original position, withno modifications required to the upper area of the tunnel.

Installation kits are supplied separately from the gearbox unit. Please ensure

you order the correct installation kit to suit your car and a gearbox unit. Thegearbox is fully reconditioned and sold outright with no surcharge.

Quaife limited slip differentialsQuaife limited slip differentials allow maximum drive to the wheels, givingmore grip under hard acceleration and cornering. Power is distributed toboth wheels, rather than wasting energy spinning the wheel under the leastload. The Quaife differential is gear operated, so it has no plates to wear,and automatically transfers power to the wheel with the most grip.

High capacity fuel pumpsFor carburettor cars the standard fuel pump may not be ableto maintain adequate fuel pressure at higher engine speeds,

particularly with a tuned car. The Facet range of fuel pumps will suit allmodified applications. Pumps should ideally be mounted below fuel tank levelas they push fuel better than they draw fuel. Fitting an electric fuel pump willeliminate problems associated with vapour lock and give constant fuel pressureeven at high temperatures. The pumps come in a variety of pressures accordingto requirements. Fine tuning of the fuel pressure can be easily achieved by theuse of a fuel regulator, available with or without a filter. You will have to re-plumb the fuel system around the new pump using a combination of standardpipes and hoses. With safety in mind, we also supply a fuel pump inertia switchkit, so that in the event of an accident, fuel delivery is cut-off.

Webcon Alpha engine management systemsWebcon, the leaders in aftermarket engine management technology, have developed a range of bespoke engine management systems for the MGB.Webcon engineers have combined their knowledge with modern technology to provide engine management systems that bring the MGB’s ignition

and fuelling management right up to date. The kits have been designed around standard specification engines to give excellent driveability rather than outrightmaximum power, making them ideally suited to road use. The base map loaded on the ECU is suitable for use on most standard and fast road tuned engines. However,for engines with significant modifications the power output and tractability can be greatly increased through additional mapping, by approved Webcon dealers.

Bronze kit - Alpha 3D static ignition management systemThis system is suitable for standard engines (fitted with either SU or singleDCOE carburettors) and designed to give the MGB an ignition system thatprecisely controls the spark timing ensuring it is delivered at the optimumpoint in the combustion cycle. It replaces the conventional distributor withan ECU controlled wasted spark ignition system that uses a crank sensorand either a vacuum sensor (for SU carbs), or a throttle position sensor (forWeber carbs) to accurately time the spark, reducing the risk of detonationand ensuring smooth power delivery throughout the rev range. This systemprovides the MGB with improved throttle response, smoother torquedelivery and improved tractability. Carburation not included.

Gold kit - Alpha PRO4 multi-throttle EFi engine management with cross-flow cylinder headThe kit is based on Webcon’s PRO4 ECU with their full Alpha managementsystem and uses an aluminium cross-flow cylinder head to allow easyinstallation of the multi-throttle bodies, providing individual throttle control toeach combustion chamber. Using the cross-flow cylinder head (see page A35)also removes the problem of the scavenging effects associated with the Siameseinlet ports of the standard cylinder head. The power output is subject to tuningmodifications to cylinder head, camshaft and exhaust system. High states oftune will require specific mapping, by approved Webcon dealers. A furtheradvantage of a more efficient engine management system is that animprovement in fuel economy will almost certainly be noticed. This system isalso capable of full closed loop lambda control making it suitable for use with acatalytic converter should the need arise. This is the most advanced turn keyengine management solution for MGB models.
