How is this output achieved?

Massey Ferguson engineers recognised that bymaking the knife-to-auger distance as great aspossible, tall crops such as oil seed rape andbeans, would have room to fall over and enterthe machine head-first which makes for evenfeed and optimum performance.

By using a belt conveyer system between theknife and auger, shorter crops are pulled orpowered evenly into the machine once cut.

When our Massey Ferguson engineersfirst tested the original design back in1976 they noted output increases ofup to 73% over conventional designs inoil seed rape.

Our customers still report thesebenefits today.

High performance threshing for maximum separation

Simplicity with rotaryseparators

The rotary separator’s speed and concaveclearance can easily be adjusted:

Fast speed and close clearance for heavystraw and damp conditions are implementedto force out any trapped grains before the

straw is ‘fluffed’ and delivered to thestraw walkers.

Alternatively a slow and wideclearance can be set in verydry, brittle straw conditionswhere straw quality has tobe maintained.

This is the heart of themachine. 95% of threshingand separation shouldhappen here, so the designis critical.

The unique design of the threshingcylinder and concave ensuresmaximum threshing and separationin all crops.

The cylinder has eight rasp barsmounted on backing bars.Therasp bars are reinforced to makethem extremely strong anddurable.This design also increasesthe peripheral weight of thecylinder and increases momentum,ensuring that smooth, even crop-flowis always maintained.

The highly permeable concave has manyunique features.An additional rub bar is fixedto the front of the concave which startsthreshing early.

The gap between this additional bar and thefirst bar on the concave is solid. Ensuring afirm ‘rub’ so de-awners or filler plates arenot required.

Constant Flow ... for smarter operation

The key to increased output is to keep thecombine fully loaded.When the crop thins,the combine needs more material to keepeverything running at 100% capacity.

Constant Flow achieves this by sensing theload on the cylinder and electronically varyingthe combine forward speed to matchthe crop.

Output can be increased by up to 15% in awide variety of crops.

HiStream 100 Grain management system

The HiStream 100 grainmanagement system isdesigned to handle up to 100 tonnes per hour.

Grain cleaning begins on the two preparationpans.The long stroke ensures efficientmovement of large volumes of grain and chaff.

The pans, supported by massive carriers,begin the cleaning action, with the lighterchaff floating to the top of the mix. Two‘cascade’ steps with air blasts from the fanensure all chaff is blown out of the machine.The electronically adjustable sieves combinedwith the constant air pressure from the fan(also in-cab adjustable), ensures that you arein complete control of final grainsample quality.

Returns material is dealt with by the separatere-thresher which evenly distributes the cleangrain directly onto the grain pan with nopossibility of it being remixed with the straw.

The HiStream 100 system means totalcleaning efficiency and superior output.

Electrically opening tank covers are safer forthe operator and encourage shutting whentrees may be an obstruction around theheadland. Access is very simple for cleaningand the water resistant covers can be leftopen or closed when harvesting.

Effortless baling

Straw fed through the CEREA system suffersless damage and is easier to pick up whenswathed - with any baler, large or small.

A single lever diverts the straw from theStraw chopper to leave a swath on theground ready for baling.

The eight walker systemwhich is unique toMassey Ferguson, increasesagitation of the straw matby 33% when compared withsix walker systems.

The straw walkers efficiently transport thestraw from the rotary separator to thechopper (or the swath) ensuring any remaininggrain trapped in the straw mat is removed andreturned in the machine.

However, it’s power requirement isconsiderably less than ‘powered separation’systems, so fuel consumption is lower. Strawquality is also maintained.

The straw chopper

The chopper can achieve a spread of up to9 metres. An additional ‘dual chop’ bar can beeasily engaged for even more aggressivechopping action.

The chaff spreader

The Chaff spreader has been designed tospread the full width of the table, whetherchopping or swathing the straw and willconveniently fold out of the way when accessto the sieves is needed.

The CEREA range isequipped as standard withthe Min-Till Chopper.

The Min-Till Chopper has eight rows ofserrated blades and has a faster rotor speedthan many standard choppers.

This means the minimum chopped length ofthe straw is very short.This ensures quickbreakdown of the straw which is ideal forNo-Till or Min-Till cultivation systems.

Auto Level Combine: keeping productivity on the level

Both CEREA combines areavailable as Auto Levelmachines where thecombine rump levelsindependently, adjustingfor slopes of up to 12%.

Ideal when working in steep or hillyconditions.This enables the combine to workat maximum efficiency for the majorityof the time.

All the internal components are kept levelwhich means they can continue to operate atfull productivity.

‘Whole machine levelling’ is more efficientthan ‘component levelling’ as slopes affect thewhole threshing and separation process.

The standard air suspension seat suits driversof every shape and size, and the ‘3D’ (tilt,telescopic, incline) steering column, allows thedriver to find the perfect working position. Inaddition to this there is a convenientupholstered instructor seat.

Eight work lights as standard ensure round-the-clock productivity, in comfort and safety.

Fast, accurate unloading

The operator has a perfect view of theunloader so there’s no need to lean forwarduncomfortably. Unloader engagement isprotected so that it cannot be switched onaccidentally. It can also be locked-on for staticunloading.

Complete control

The Multifunction Lever is part of the armrest on the seat, making operatingadjustments convenient and easy. As well as the Datavision screen, it can be adjustedprecisely to suit the operator's drivingpreference.

Datavision screens can also be selected fromthe Multifunction Lever, in addition toextending and closing the unloading auger.

Maize – A full range of high output MaizeHeaders is available for CEREA Combines.A special maize equipment kit has been designed for the tough conditionsfacing maize farmers to prolong the life of the machine.The HiStream100 grainhandling system, which is designed to copewith the high outputs needed for maize,is a standard feature as is the maizecompatible crop elevator.

Grass seed/Linseed – To complementthe high performance of our tables inspecialist seeds, other accessories can befitted. For example, low speed fan pulleys helpto avoid losses in valuable crops, and a specialgrass seed unloading auger makes unloadingfaster and blockage free.

Peas and Beans – A special kit is availablefor augers and elevator bottoms to removesoil from the sample.
