It is compulsory to have 10 years of schooling and it is rare to go to University. Teachers earn about $10 000 a year. The Men have a higher literacy rate than women because the men go through better schooling. The Mexican's believe that the men can go further in life so they are given more opportunities and are chosen to attend university before the women, regardless of their intelligence.

The average age for the Mexican man to live to is 70 years old while on average the women live till 77. On average, 3 children are born to each women.

HealthMexico has an excellent and inexpensive health care system. Many larger centers offer first class hospitals, and a full range of health care. Many North Americans now travel to Mexico for dental work and minor surgery, because prices are considerably lower. Pharmaceuticals are widely available and at prices much lower than the U.S. or Canada. Doctors are well trained and they even do house calls. Health insurance is available and it is inexpensive.
