    Financial assistance

    Enabled 28,297 children, amilies and adults with$38.2 million o fnancial assistance or Y programs like

    child care, Head Start, camp, youth sports, and teen

    development. Provided $2.9 million in Partner With

    Youth annual campaign assistance.

    Volunteers

    Involved 4,864 men, women and young adults as

    volunteers in dierent programs.

    Pre-school and head start

    Helped 2,208 children prepare or Kindergarten by

    providing a quality, early childhood learning oundation.aFter school

    Gave 7,851 children enriching activities during non-

    school hours in a sae, supervised, aordable, and

    accessible place. Increased physical activity and reduced

    health risks in youth by oering Youth Fit For Lie at

    ater-school sites, YMCAs and at schools during physical

    education classes. Operated 117 ater-school sites.

    Youth deVeloPment

    Helped to develop 6,971 teenagers by guiding them with

    positive, adult role models, involving them in leadership

    development activities and community service programs,and preparing them to become uture business and

    community leaders.

    daY camP

    Oered a place or 15,285 youth to go when school is out,

    to build relationships and enrich their understanding o

    the outdoors while having un in a secure setting.

    resident camP

    Used challenging outdoor experiences to help 3,554

    young people grow emotionally, mentally, physically,

    and spiritually.

    Youth sPorts and recreation

    Helped to address childhood obesity and build a lie-longappreciation o health and wellness in 48,169 children

    through participation in values-based physical activities

    that build skills and sel-esteem.

    YounG PeoPle With disaBilities

    Oered an opportunity or 453 young people with physica

    impairments to play team sports and learn to swim. Happ

    Club outings gave 210 young adults with developmental

    disabilities time away rom amily, social interaction,

    recreational activities, and a chance to learn new skills.

    Worked with 33 dierent, local agencies.

    Wellness

    Progressively involved, supported and empowered 152,218

    individuals and amily members in the pursuit o health

    enhancement and the reduction o obesity and related

    chronic diseases. Developed THE COACH APPROACH

    exercise support process or new and returning exercisers

    and those most at risk.

    collaBorations

    Avoided the duplication o programs and services by

    collaborating with more than 100 government, health care

    and community service organizations including Atlanta

    Housing Authority, DeKalb County Schools, Northside

    Hospital, and American Association o Adapted Sports

    Programs, Inc. (AAASP).
