Goal 1: Understanding the Arts as expression of self and cultures.

• Objectives:• Exploring artifacts

from diverse cultures; making inferences and generalizations based on these.

• Assessment:• Students complete

table with inferences and generalizations, followed by whole class discussion.

Goal 2: Understanding the curricular dimensions of Social Studies Themes• Objectives:

1. Classify images of diverse cultures into S.S. Themes.

2. Create a collage that represents multiple dimensions of a particular S.S. theme.

• Assessments:

1. Discussion with partner.

2. Create a collage.

Goal 3: Understanding concepts and processes for arts integration

• Assessment:1. Reflect on opera video

through questions, responses, and observations.
