1.1.2 Construction Manager is responsible for the site execution activities as per method statement and project specification

1.1.3 QA/QC manager is responsible for quality control and documentation during erection of steel structure

1.1.4 HSE Manager is responsible for all risk control in accordance with Job Safety Analysis during erection of structural members and all associated activities.

3.0 PROCEDURE3.1 General This method statement covers the erection of all the structural members of the transmission pylons.3.2 Shop Drawings3.21 The shop/field erection drawings will be provided by the client 3.2.2 Civil-Tech will only worked with approved shop/field erection drawings. Any changes to be must be first approved.3.3 Materials3.3.1 Materials StorageThe Client will be responsible for storing all the structural components of the transmission pylon. The Contractor will classify and arrange the materials as per the item specify in the approved drawing and store properly the ones he working with. The contractor will provide protection skid and avoid metal to metal contact or with other materials at all times.3.3.2 Material ProtectionThe contractor will be responsible to protect all material in his possession against rusts, scratches and other foreign matters that may cause corrosion and damage.3.3.3 Materials VerificationThe material verification will be carried out in accordance to the Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings3.3.4 Materials HandlingSpecial care shall be taken during loading, transportation, unloading and erection. Unsafe handling or improper protection of materials will cause damage. The contractor will use nylon sling belt in lifting and blocking with woods or plastic board for extra protection (if this work falls within the scope of the contractor).

3.4. Erection3.4.1 General Erection work shall be checked in accordance with approved ITP During erection, temporary bracing shall be used to maintain structural stability. Plumbing will be maintained before all bolts are installed After bolt tightening between members or anchor bolt, minimum 2 threads project will be come out form the nut surface Verticality of the pylon will be checked during erection. The rope method of installation will be used. 3.4.2 TolerancesThe client will furnish the contractor the following tolerances level Permissible deviation between designed and actual position of erected structures Permissible deviation between actual positions of the 4 bases of the pylons3.4.3 Field bolting Bolt connection shall be in accordance with the IFC assembling drawing Bolts shall be used in accordance to the project requirements and drawings Bolts shall be fitted with appropriate grade of washers and nut specified by the IFC assembling drawings Tightening to be done by turning the bolt head or the nut applying snug tightening Sufficient bolts in the joint shall be snuggled to draw the connecting members into close contact, then all bolts shall be tightened until the average gap between the face of the load indicator washers and the underside of the turned element is reduced to at least gap specified in drawings Tightening shall progress systematically from the most rigid part of the joint to its free edges until the gap under the load indicating bolt head should be reduced to specified dimension. If not mentioned the torque value we applied snug tightening. Snug Tightening

The steel structure bolts must be brought into effective contact. This is referred to as snug tightening. That is no gap between the steel plates. Snug tightening can be achieved by a few impacts of an impact wrench or by the full effort of a person using a standard podger spanner (spud wrench).

3.434 Bolt tightening inspection

The QA/QC inspector will inspect to ensure that all bolting installation are satisfactory. QC inspector will review and observe all bolting operations including as follow: Bolting operation on by acceptable equipment and procedures. Installation of a washer adjacent to nut or bolt head, whichever is the turned element. Tightening sequence in all connections to ensure that initially tightened bolts are not loosened by the tightening of surrounding bolts Any consignment containing used, corroded, damaged or dirty bolts, nuts and washers shall be rejected. Material storage to ensure that stored material will not become corroded or dirty or otherwise unsuitable before being used.
