• Appropriation of parking spaces authorized by VMC Section 19.10.020 - Construction zone permits

• Some uses of the right-of-way require a Street Use/Right-of-Way (VMC 11.60)

• Meter Hoods reserve a metered parking space for a specific purpose during a specific period of time

• $5.00 per reserved space per day• $50.00 refundable deposit

• Boise, ID• Grand Rapids, MI• Madison, WI• Portland, OR• Seattle, WA

• Formal application process (ranging from 24 hours to 7 days in advance)

• Fee for each stall temporarily removed from use (Most cities charge a higher fee in meter zones with lower fees in non-metered areas)

• Fees based on a combination of cost recovery (administration) and lost revenue (in meter zones)

• Prohibit use of the temporary parking for employee use

• Other cities charge an additional fee for “meter hooding services”
