Mid-Winter Meeting –February 11, 2012

A record breaking number of participants were treated to two excellent presentations. One by Carol Becker on Sleighing Safety, and one by Terry Pickett on Sleighs & Sleigh Turn-out.

MCDE XXVIII– June 15 – 17, 201214

This 28th Annual CDE boasted the highest number of competitors in the event’s history – 57 entries, with all but one a veteran.

MCDA members actively participate in the CDE – both as volunteers and as competitors!

Larry Poulin stayed after the CDE to give a clinic on Sunday afternoon and

Monday.

14 drivers received instruction, while others audited throughout the

lessons.

The many participants had several educational opportunities, lots of time to drive the roads, the trails, the obstacles and the cones. And then there was the food! Two great evenings of dinners hosted by Barbara and Frank.

Alicia’s Poker Run game was a highlight as well.

With over 25 entrants, 2012’s Recreational Drive participation exceeded 2011’s.

It was suggested to Tom Johnson that the trails are more enjoyable with a horse!

Celebration of the Horse – September 29, 2012

Beth Lynch was pivotal in organizing a carriage display which was manned all day during the Celebration. There was quite a bit of interest in the vehicles, and in talking with the MCDA members about driving.

It seems that Mother Nature is intent on making the Continuous Drive an activity for only the heartiest! For the 2nd

Those 16 who DID participate had a wonderful time on the course, and at the pot luck luncheon.

even had entrants from the West side of

the state.
