METAL FRAMING FLOOR+
SHOP DRAWINGS
Shop Drawings
Finish your modeling with built-in shop drawing
generator and deliver your floor framing
estimation at the same hour. Build your
complete shop drawings with dimensioning,
part lists and material take-off automatically.
Solution will collect all elements from one floor panel and make assembly with
predefined views, add dimensions, add tags, make sheets and put the views
into the sheets.
Shop Drawings
Shop drawing workflow consists of following steps:
1. Floor+M → define Shop Drawing Configuration
2. Floor+M → make shop drawings for one floor using Create Frame Assembly
3. Floor+M → sort frame members
4. Add shop drawing views into the sheet for one floor and save it as a template for future floors
5. Floor+M → make shop drawings for other floor segments
6. Floor+M → update shop drawings if there are any changes in the model
Shop Drawing Configuration – Views
Assembly tab:
Create Assembly Views – predefine assembly views,
graphical view presentation, framing layers you want to
present and schedule.
Sheet View Settings – define settings of sheet titleblock,
sheet template, structural framing tag.
Shop Drawing Configuration –
predefine the settings for shop drawing
creation.
Shop Drawing Configuration – Views
Create View – select the views you
want to create in the assembly
View – select view type to create in the
assembly. The list of view types comes
from Revit. It can be: section, elevation,
3D view etc.
View Name – enter view name for
selected view
Framing Layer – select framing layer type you want to present in the view. It can be: frame, sheathing, etc.
View Template – select view template for every assembly view. View templates bring such information to the view, like scale,
graphical presentment etc. The list of view templates comes from your current Revit project. You can find and modify your project view
templates in Revit → View → Graphics → View Templates → Manage View Templates.
Shop Drawing Configuration – Sheet
Titleblock – select the titleblock family to apply for assemblies. Titleblock
family list comes from your current project.
Sheet Number – sheet number will get the Mark values from the floor.
Shop Drawing Configuration – Sheet
Sheet Template – select existing assembly sheet to be as a template for
future assembly sheets. Create first assembly → add views to the sheet
manually → open Shop Drawing Configuration → select a sheet to be
as a template.
F-6 Sheet

Shop Drawing Configuration – Schedules
Part List Template, Material Takeoff Template and Schedule
Template – select a schedule from your current project to be a
template for the assembly part list, material takeoff schedules.
Shop Drawing Configuration – Schedules
Sample schedules will be loaded with Load Families &
Schedules. You can modify it or create your own with your
own columns, filters etc.
The software automatically create additional parameters that
can be used in the schedules. For example, Framing
Member Mass – will show the mass (weight) for every
frame.
Shop Drawing Configuration – Tags
Structural Framing Tag – select structural framing tag family from
your current project that will be added to the Front views. Sample
tags are loaded to your project using Load Families & Schedules.
Also tags can be added for structural connections, sheathing panels in every individual view:

floor, press Create Frame Assembly and the software will create shop drawings according to
predefined configuration.
Update Frame Assembly
Update Frame Assembly – updates assembly of selected floor if any changes were made in
Shop Drawing Configuration.
For example, dimension type was changed in configuration. Result after update process.
Sort Structural Connections/Framing by Mark
Sort Structural Connections or Framing – sorts
framing members to properly tag element. You can find
parameter with sorted values in Properties → Identity
Data.
The software uses Marks from Framing
Configuration.
FM SortMark – parameter with sorted values. It
contains Framing Member Mark values and a number
that is sorted by framing length.
