From the Desk of VicarDearly beloved in Christ,
Children are the signs of renewal of life instituted by God in His eternal creativity purpose. Children grow up to contribute to the essence of human life. Therefore it is crucial to understand their precious worth and
treat them responsibly.
Our Sabha is observing 4th of this month as World Sunday School Day. The Biblical teaching concerning children shows us the
importance of the Sunday School; “Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray” (Proverbs 22:6).These are word of wisdom which concerns the philosophy and ideal human life. There should be a clear and specific objective in training up children in a most efficient and responsible manner. This will in turn help them to gain understanding to live a worthy life. Therefore it is imperative of some words of advice and counseling, but it is a strenuous and critical process of training.
The period of childhood is the most receptive stage for learning. During this stage, the mind is sensitive and there is vigorous assimilation of information of every kind. All patterns of thinking behaving and talking of elders around them are deeply embedded in the children psyche. All these find expression in the later stage of child’s adulthood. Negative experience during childhood will result in individuals with anti-social and extremists with insane and sinful behavior. The text Proverbs 22:6 cleary express this truth that whatever the child is exposed in the childhood cannot be done away with even until the old age. The Sunday School
is the basic centre for the formation of personality. I request all parents and teachers of our parish to realize your
responsibility and train the children in the right way.
We are going to enter in to the Advent season. The word Advent is from the Latin “adventus” for “coming” and is associated with the four weeks of preparation for Christmas. Advent always contains four Sundays, beginning on the Sunday nearest the feast of St. Andrews the Apostle and continuing until December 24.The season of Advent is to prepare our hearts to accept Jesus Christ joyfully into our lives and proclaim with enthusiasm that comes from faith that He is the Lord and Savior of the whole world. May this Advent season help us to accept His presence and authority in the world.
