Get green this Valentine’s Day and give gifts that not only will impress that certain someone, but Mother Nature as well! If you plan on buying a card, make sure that it’s made from recycled or tree-free paper. Another option is to create a one-of-a-kind card using scraps of ribbon, paper and notions you may have on hand, with an original poem written inside. This will certainly become a treasured memento. Did someone say chocolate? Fair trade and organic chocolate is not only delicious, it is also better for your loved one and the environment. There are many brands available at most grocery and specialty stores.Want to create a romantic evening? Prepare a delicious and nutritious dinner for that special someone using local and organic ingredients. Light some beeswax candles that not only set the mood, but help purify the air. This way you can save on expensive restaurant costs for Valentine’s Day, avoid the crowds and create a memorable evening for you and your Valentine! ~Wendy Uribe, St. George Library
