PACE (Professional Activities Committees for Engineers) is a

grassroots network of IEEE volunteers and committees

organized at the section and chapter level in the United States

with support from their respective regions and IEEE-USA. The goal of

the PACE Network is to promote the professional interests of IEEE’s U.S. members as well as

provide a mechanism for communication of members’ views on their professional needs. IEEE-

USA’s success is attributed largely in part to all the hard work out forth by volunteers from the

PACE Network. In return, the IEEE-USA National PACE Committee is working to better serve your

interests with more programs, better communication, and more opportunities for professional

development.

Do you know an outstanding IEEE member who is not yet an IEEE Senior Member? Do you feel

that you are qualified for such recognition?

Senior Member is the highest grade for which IEEE members can apply. IEEE members can self-

nominate, or be nominated, for Senior Member grade.

To be eligible for application or nomination, candidates must:

Be engineers, scientists, educators, technical executives, or originators in IEEE-designated

fields;

Have experience reflecting professional maturity;

Have been in professional practice for at least ten years (with some credit for certain

degrees);

Show significant performance over a period of at least five of their years in professional

practice.

If you are interested in becoming a Senior Member or nomination a fellow IEEE member, please

see http://www.ieee.org/seniormember for an application. For summary of benefits and

qualification requirements, see https://www.ieee.org/membership/senior/senior-

requirements.html

The IEEE New Orleans Section continues to support local universities (University of New Orleans,

Tulane University, and Delgado Community College) through meetings/events, sponsorship, etc.

We are very happy with the progress of our local IEEE student branches. Furthermore, we look

forward to seeing all of our student members compete at the Region 5 Conference, especially to

Robotics Competition. We recommend the leaders of local student branches to attend IEEE

EXCOM meetings and learn more about the IEEE as a global organization.
