ARTS AT CENTENNIAL

Facebook and Instagram

Follow us as we celebrate what we’re up to! On Facebook we’re Arts Program—Centennial Secondary School, and

on Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/artscss/.

Google Summit and CSS Artists

Our 9/10 Visual Arts Program Majors wowed us with their preparations for the Eastern Ontario Google Summit housed at CSS this fall. They were tasked with providing design and creating visuals and interactive displays for the summit. They collaborated through the design process and showed adaptability, fortitude, and sense of humour while working under deadline on this authentic task. Their creations were awesome – enjoyed by hundreds throughout the weekend.

Remembrance Day Trip to Ottawa

Grade 9 & 10 Arts students spent Remembrance Day in Ottawa, participat-ing in the capital’s ceremony and exploring the indigenous art and artifacts and other exhibits at the National History Museum. Students returned with inspiration for art projects both personal and curricular.

Drama & Art Trip to Kingston

Senior Drama and Visual Art students spent a day touring Kingston’s Isabel Bader Theatre, Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, Queen’s campus and the Agnes Etherington Art Centre. After such a full day it’s difficult to pick best moments, but here’s a couple: a CSS duet from the stage at the Isabel and talking art with our insightful seniors over a couple of Rembrandts at Agnes Etherington.
