The Classic Golf CourseMesa Country Club was created in 1948 by legendary golf course architect William “Billy” Bell. Perhaps best known for his work in San Diego at the Torrey Pines South Course and La Jolla Country Club, Bell’s portfolio extends into Arizona at Mesa Country Club, Tucson Country Club and the renowned original design of Papago.

The 70-year history of Mesa Country Club is evidenced by the stunning, mature trees that line every fairway. Reminiscent of other great designs of that era, the course boasts holes that move both left and right, par-3s of varying lengths and orientations, and reachable risk/reward par-5s that bring eagles and “others” into play.

In addition to the towering aleppo pine and eucalyptus trees that frame the course, the most notable features are the elevation changes enabled by the natural plateau which divides upper and lower holes. Some of the smallest greens in the state protect the course from low scores, particularly on holes 8, 9, 13 and 18 where the back-to-front slopes are substantial.

Beyond just a collection of interesting golf holes, Mesa Country Club is a strategic golf course – a story that unfolds with each new tee shot and approach. Short distances from green to tee allow for easy walking and also help to keep a pace of four hours or better at all times. Best of all, the course returns to the clubhouse on numerous occasions, meaning you can tailor your play to as much time as you have available.

I have many choices of where I can play. But I choose to be a Member at Mesa Country Club.

MICHAEL ALLEN, PGA Tour Champion

70 Years of History & TraditionIn the pantheon of Arizona private golf, there are five classic city clubs: Arizona Country Club, Phoenix Country Club, Paradise Valley Country Club, Tucson Country Club, and, of course, Mesa Country Club. All constructed at nearly the same time in the mid-1940s, these five courses exemplified innovation when they were first built, and they define classic now approaching seven decades later.

When someone becomes part of something that’s been around for generations, it becomes apparent why many of our Members are sons and daughters of Members. It’s this legacy – carefully stewarded – which instills a sense of pride that’s evident whether experienced for 30 minutes, 30 days or 30 years, and is a large part of why new families choose to make Mesa Country Club their home.

The Equity Club ExperienceIn recent years, a number of new clubs have opened around the Valley. However, it is only on the rarest occasion that a club establishes itself as an equity partnership – one where Members are not just customers, but owners. Akin to the difference between purchasing and renting a home, having an ownership stake cements a Member’s connection to the Club. Furthermore, Members have a direct hand in the way the Club operates.

Unlike other clubs where Members are subject to the changing whims of a developer or course owner, Mesa Country Club is owned and operated by – and for – its Members. Our objective is simple – make every Member and guest comfortable all of the time.

Dining & AmenitiesMesa Country Club is a country club built on heritage and tradition. Members share private access to a variety of leisure activities well beyond golf, including tennis, swimming, fitness, social events, dining and more. There are reserved areas for both men and ladies, and when a Member is at the Club, the experience feels like an extension of one’s own home.

Admittedly, Mesa Country Club is first and foremost a golf club but beyond just the timeless course design our amenities include:

• Three dining options, from our signature burger wraps at the Terrace to surf & turf in the Members’ Grill, and the Main dining room

• Six recently-renovated, lighted championship tennis courts and two pickle ball courts

• Summer activities for kids, including a competitive swim team, golf & tennis camps and more

• A fitness center with cardio, mobility and strength equipment• A social calendar packed with everything from bingo to live bands

Whatever relaxation looks like to each Member, we’ve got it covered.

Fun for Your FamilyMesa Country Club is not just great for the addicted golfer(s) in the family: the club is also a safe and fun environment for children. Family-friendly activities abound, including:

• Private instruction, group clinics, and camps for golf, tennis, and swimming

• Competitive swimming programs with other area clubs• Numerous couples events in both golf & tennis

• Family friendly events such as 4th of July fireworks, Easter egg hunt, and breakfast with Santa.

Diverse programs are just the first part of what makes Mesa Country Club fun for the whole family. As a central hub of activity, the clubhouse is a great place to entertain current friends and maybe make some new ones too.

The FutureMesa Country Club takes pride in its financial discipline, and throughout decades of economic cycles we have been able to maintain and sustain a strong and healthy club.

The Club has completed extensive improvements that include updates to the Clubhouse patio and interiors as well as course enhancements such as reestablishing the original green shapes and contours and installation of higher performance Bermuda grass putting surfaces. In addition, all bunker sand has been replaced and upgraded to an Augusta White variety. These projects are always evaluated with the proper diligence, and we are grateful for how extremely supportive our Members have been with regard to the Club’s mission to innovate and improve.

Members take their role as stewards of our legacy seriously, and we ask the new generation to do the same. You have the opportunity to be a part of something special. We hope you consider Mesa Country Club as the setting for your future memories.
