Oath taking Ceremony of the Elected Union members was held on 25 August and the union assumed
their power
30 August 2017
Union conducted their first programme “OLAM”, celebrating Onam. The whole college including
students, staff and management enthusiastically participated in the various competition and events. The
principal Dr. A Biju, conveyed Onam wishes to all.
3 October 2017
The functioning of Campus Radio was reinstated by Union with the help of Mr. AjimishaMoideen, Dept
of Electronics on 3 October. Later Ms. Amina Rahana of Department of English took the charge of the
daily functioning of Radio along with the support of two student co-ordinators Mr. HaseebHassan,

B.Com Taxation and Aaqib BBA. The Management and principal extended their whole hearted support
for the Radio and allotted them a recording studio.
1 November 2017
Kerala Piravi day was celebrated on 1 November along with Arts Club Inauguration. ZinilZainudheen
inaugurated the Arts Club and Adv. Jayashankar inaugurated the Official functioning of College Union.
The Ceremony also witnessed the honoring of the participants and Indian Coach who represented India
(Ju-Jitsu) in Asian Indoor and Martial Games held at Turkmenistan by College Union.

College Union along with NSS, NCC and MES Ernakulum district Committee initiated the fund
collection for “SWAPNAVEED” Home for your friend, an initiation from the college to provide Home
for the needy student of the College.

Union conducted a naming competition for Arts festival and finalized the name as “KALAWAR” With
regard to the Arts Festival, the off stage events and inter house Games were held from 14-18 December
2017.

Christmas and New Year were Celebrated with funfilled activities, Carol Song Competition, Cake
Making, Crib Making. IQAC Coordinator and Principal Incharge Dr. Manzur Ali P.P. delivered the
Christmas wishes to all.

3 January 2018
NSS and College Union raised a fund of rupees One Lakh towards the treatment aid of a child suffering
from cancer in the locality.
18 January 2018
An episode of a Comedy programme in Surya TV was shot in the College and many of our students
participated in Dubmash, Comedy games etc.. The programme aired on 18 January 2019.
22 January 2018
Union members along with class representatives, Union advisor, Arts coordinator and Principal visited
Well Care Trust, a Home to care for old aged, physically challenged and differently abled people at
Veliyathunad and spent the whole day with the inmates sharing food, singing songs etc. This was a
memorable experience for the students which helped identify themselves with the sorrows and pangs of
human kind.

1 February 2018
Considering the request from students, College Union submitted a massive petition to Transport
Minister of Kerala, requesting a limited bus stop status for college bus stop.
21 and 22 February 2018
The college Arts festival “KALAWAR” was conducted on 21 and 22 February. Cine artists
AnarkaliMarikar and AppaniSharathinaugurated the Arts festival. Students belonging to various houses
participated in various events. Pearly Mani, cine artist, was the chief guest for the closing ceremony.
7 and 8 March 2018
The Annual Athletic Meet of the College was organized with the support of College Union. The Sports
Meet was inaugurated by Mr. Vivek Nair, international Basketball Player, Superintendent, Customs and
Central Excise. Various sports events were conducted for boys and girls.

M.G. University Arts festival “Ashantam” was conducted at Maharjas College from 9-12 March 2018
College union with the support of Management and College facilitated training from expert masters for
participants in various events likeKolkali, duffmut, Oppana and Mime. Kolkali and Duffmut team
secured first prize and Oppnana and mime secured A grade in the University Youth festival.
24 March 2018
An Inter University Mappila Youth festival, “MAHRJAN” was organized on 24 March 2018 with the
support of MES Ernakulum District Committee, College Union and
MahakaviMoyinkuttyVaidyarMappila Kala Academy Kondotti. Students representing various
universities in Kerala participated in various Mappila events.
31 March 2018
College Day was celebrated on 31 March 2018 with famous cine artist Shalin Soya as Chief Guest.
Being the last event of the academic year college union celebrated the day in the most colorful and
vibrant manner. Also distributed prizes to the winners who have excelled in Arts and sports events.
