The Sounds of the Spirit Concert Series presents “An Afternoon with Anita Renfroe” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at RUMC. Anita is a Christian comedienne and author who became famous for “Momisms,” her comic rendition of everything a mother would typically say to her children in the course of a day, set to the “William Tell Overture.” With her unique brand of musical comedy

and blend of sass, audiences at her comedy concert tours say, “She just says what everyone is thinking but won’t say out loud.” Among her many television and in-person engagements, Anita has been a regular commentator for “Good Morning America.” This is an event you won’t want to miss! Roswell Kids Parent Meeting: Want to know more about what we do in Roswell Kids? Want some tools to help build your child’s spiritual education? All parents are invited to a brief Roswell Kids Parent Meeting on Sunday, Jan. 6, at 12 p.m. in the Dining Room, Chapel building. Whether you are new to Roswell Kids or have been around a while, stop in, meet our team, and learn about your child’s spiritual development. Childcare is provided.

Created by God, our annual workshop on human sexuality for fifth graders, will be Sunday, Jan. 27. Parents must attend one of two informational meetings to understand what their child will be learning and how they can be involved, to ask questions, and to make a final decision on whether their child should attend. These meetings are on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 12 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m. Childcare is provided at both and lunch will be provided at the Sunday meeting. Information: rumc.com/rkevents

As Silent Night is sung and the lights are being dimmed, the pastor will light a candle from the Christ candle. The pastor will then light the candles of the candlelighters gathered at the altar. They will light the candles of the first worshippers in the pews. Worshippers 12 years and older may hold a candle; younger worshippers may hold a candle with their parents. Keep the lighted candle upright; the unlighted candle is tipped to be lighted. Before leaving the pew, worshippers are requested to extinguish their candles and place them in the baskets located at the exits.
