The Dimatix Technology Integrations™— Merlin DCE is ageneral-purpose, console style, industrial ink jet printcontroller that supports a wide variety of configured printhead clusters. The controller is capable of driving a total of 48 Dimatix 256-jet printheads configured in 1 to 4 printbars.
In addition to accommodating a variety of printbar options,the versatile design of the Merlin DCE can be configuredto support many jetting fluid types, making the unit ideal forprinting, deposition and decorative food and non-foodapplications.
The controller enables these printbars to be operated inseveral print modes including narrow, multi-color lane withsupport for up to 4 individual product triggers or contiguousimages of up to 40-inches wide, and various printheadorientations.
The Merlin DCE design allows easy integration andplacement with an existing manufacturing production line oras an offline solution. Electrical umbilicals connect thecontroller to the printbars. Umbilical lengths are configured to meet application specific requirements with lengths of up to 35 feet. This affords easy reach to inaccessible or highpositions on the production line.
The controller may be operated in a stand-alone, distributednetworked mode or operated via standard industrial linecontrol interfaces.
An optional user interface monitor and keyboard allows forthe local access and control of functional parameters through a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI is based on the Windows® 7 operating system. All system features areaccessible through easy to use and intuitive menus usingtouch-screen capability.
The enclosure is constructed of rugged powder coated sheetmetal or optional stainless steel. This console style cabinethouses all printhead-tending functions including CPU, driveelectronics and pneumatics.
Optional, quick release electrical cables are offered tointerconnect the Merlin DCE controller with the desiredprintbars and are optimized to accommodate specific jettingcharacteristics and agency regulation requirements.
