CHARYA ENGINEERING COL-

7 Days NSS Camp Held at Devada by SSTC-SSEC Student

It is always fascinating for future engineers and tech-nologist to have deeper understanding of society, as when their studies are over they have to work for benefit of it. Na-tional Service Scheme has always proved to be an efficient way for students to get in touch with different layers of Indian society, through various programmers and activities orga-nized by NSS at regular basis. 7 day NSS camp was organized in Devada by SSTC -SSEC. In the camp, the students had an opportunity to have a direct contact with village locals, various pro-grammers were conducted by NSS volunteers for the locals, such as, free medical camp, nukkad natak, poetry recitation, and also locals were informed about various government schemes which could benefits them in their lived, all such activities ce-mented a hearty connections between volunteers and locals. The students of SSEC un-der the leadership of Asst. Prof. Navdeep Khare (Incharge NSS, SSEC) have enthusias-tically took an active part in every activity. A systematic survey was also conducted by volunteers in village. NSS camp also proved to be a great opportunity for volunteers, for they could hear directly from prestigious people from society, as Dr. M. K. Verma (Vice Chancellor, CSVTU), Pad-ma Shree Shamshad Begum, Dr. Neeta Tripathi (Principal, SSEC), Dr. M.L. Verma, (HoD, Dept. of Applied Physics SSGI) and CEO of Akshay Patra were some frequent visitors in camp. They didn‟t only motivated volunteers for their good work but also have taught various important lessons to achieve success. For, Dr. M.K. Verma told the importance self-talk in busy world, Mrs. PadmaShree ShamshadBegum, taught persis-tence is the key to success. The volunteers have done a tremendous job, teaching school kids in evening, providing career guidance for students from High School and providing valuable infor-mation regarding employment generation to adults. The camp‟s day often was conclud-ed by brain storming session by volunteers on current issues. It was a valuable experi-ence for young engineers and efforts as such will make them responsible citizen of this great nation.
