Tom Hackett: Children’s & Youth Development Officer
As Children’s & Youth Development Officer (CYDO), my role is to equip and support churches in Southern Synod to cater for the needs of children and young people in their communities. This involves advising churches on best practice, training and encouraging those who work with children and young people, as well as working directly with children and young people to enable them to be full and equal partners with adults in the life of the church. This year, we’re focussing on re-establishing the Synod Youth Executive, a body of young people from across the synod to help plan and lead opportunities for young people to grow in faith and have their say in the life of the Synod and the wider denomination. We’re looking for young people aged 14-25 to join this group, please get in touch if you know any young people who would like to get involved. To find out more about how I can support you in your work with children and young people, please contact me via email [email protected].
