MERCURY CONTROL SYSTEMS Activated Carbon Injection Systems For Your Mercury Control Needs
A D A E N V I R O N M E N T A L S O L U T I O N S
ADA Environmental Solutions (ADA) is the recognized leader in mercury
control for the coal-fired power industry. We provide proven, reliable and
cost-effective Activated Carbon Injection (ACI) Systems that enable our
customers to meet their mercury emissions requirements.
We guarantee it!
It is a system in which Powdered
Activated Carbon (PAC) is
pneumatically injected from a
storage silo into the flue gas
ductwork where it then adsorbs
mercury and is collected along
with fly ash in the plant’s
particulate collector.
ACI is the most established
commercial technology for
removing mercury from coal-fired
boiler flue gases and is capable of
greater than 90% control.
ADA’s modular ACI System is
constructed in either one or two
sections depending upon storage
requirements.
The upper carbon storage module
can be sized to accommodate up
to 280,000 pounds of PAC.
The process equipment module
is arranged in two levels. The
ground level consists of two
separate compartments; one
for the electrical and control

contains the motive air blowers.
The mezzanine level in this module
contains the key PAC feed systems,
including the isolation and rotary
valves, screw feeders, and the air
fluidization system. Our ACI System
is shop fabricated, assembled
and tested, which minimizes field
installation time and costs.

ADA provides in-house CFD modeling to optimize injection grid design for our customer’s ductwork.
The photo above shows a typical PAC distribution manifold.
Successful application of ACI technology
requires optimum distribution of PAC into
the flue gas to maximize contact with the
mercury. ADA Environmental Solutions
uses our customer’s physical model or
our own in-house CFD modeling to design
a custom distribution manifold and
injection lance array for each application.
Our Experience Makes the DifferenceAt ADA we bring together a dedicated team of experts to provide the best service
