    customer requirements: CLA 200 CDI Style priced at Rs.31.50 lakhs, CLA 200

    Sport priced at Rs. 35 lakhs and CLA 200 CDI Sport priced at Rs. 35.90

    New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India today launched one of the most anticipated and

    exciting products from its global portfolio; the stylish, distinctive and sporty luxury sedan,

    the CLA-Class. Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class promises to offer the discerning customers

    a stylish vehicle that makes them stand out from the rest. The CLA-Class was launched

    by Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India in New Delhi.

    From today onwards, the car is available for sale across dealerships in India.

    The CLA-Class represents a landmark in automotive design, carving out a niche for

    itself. The CLA-Class also sets a new benchmark in the segment in terms of styling,

    size and aerodynamics. With its surging lines and energetic, expressive surfaces, the

    CLA captures the attention and does not let go. But its breathtaking looks do not just set

    the pulse racing; they also give the CLA-Class the lowest drag coefficient of any

    production car in the world. So it can slice through the air with minimum resistance and

    maximum efficiency. This unrivalled aerodynamic performance is complemented by

    dramatic styling cues across the vehicle. From the signature diamond grille and almost

    predatory headlamps and the sports exhaust with twin squared tail pipes, the CLA is

    impossible to ignore and even harder to resist.

    the car making it even more adept for the Indian conditions. With this, the CLA delivers

    the level of refinement and performance expected of a Mercedes-Benz. The CLA-Class

    which is a perfect blend of style, sporty drive and luxurious features, becomes an even

    more attractive choice for buyers with its unique value propositions. The specially

    designed service and finance packages make buying and owning the CLA a pure

    Powerful and Efficient Drive: Engines and transmission

    The 4-cylinder petrol engine used in the CLA-Class boasts of agile performance,

    segment leading fuel efficiencies and low emissions. The ECO start/stop function is a

    standard feature in all engine variants and helps saving fuel in city traffic. The 4-cylinder

    turbocharged diesel engine with direct injection provides a fuel efficiency of 17.9 km

    per litre. The engine produces 100kW between 3600-4400 rpm with a maximum torque

    of 300 Nm between 1600-3000 rpm. The 2 litre petrol engine produces 135 kW at 5500

    rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm between 1200-4000 rpm. It accelerates from 0

    to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 235 kmph.

    The powerful and high torque motors coupled with the dual clutch transmission

    combines the comfort of a 7-speed automatic transmission with the driving dynamics

    of a manual transmission with fast, smooth gear changing without any interruptions in

    tractive power and results in improved acceleration. The shift characteristics can be pre-

    set from fuel-saving to sporty via the Economy, Sport and Manual transmission

    modes. The shift paddles on the steering wheel are unique in the segment.

    Designed for Dynamism

    The CLA-Class is equipped with a suspension specifically designed for India. This

    results in improved comfort on Indian roads thanks to greater ground clearance and a

    higher seating position. Through its long wheelbase of 2699 mm the new CLA-Class

    will provide its passengers with better ride comfort, great handling and stunning driving

    performance, differentiating it from its competitors. The long wheelbase will also offer

    passengers (especially in the rear) more legroom and therefore ensuring a more

    comfortable ride.

    The CLAs breathtaking looks do not just set the pulse racing they also give the CLA

    the lowest drag coefficient of any production car in the world. The low drag

    coefficient distinguishes the CLA from its competitors and ushers in a new dimension in

    terms of aerodynamic efficiency and leads to reduced wind noise, which gives

    exemplary comfort in the CLA.

    Exterior design

    The CLA has classic sedan proportions: a high, stretched waistline, flat window

    surfaces and a long bonnet. The unusually expressive lines combined with both

    concave and convex surfaces give the CLA its breathtakingly sporty proportions and

    powerfully dynamic design idiom and its unmistakable look.

    The vehicle's striking features include the bonnet embedded in the front end with

    powerdomes and the diamond radiator grille. The light modules and LEDs behind the

    headlamp cover glass have been arranged in such a way as to create the characteristic

    "flare effect" for the daytime driving lights and indicators. An impressive front face is

    ensured by the standard BiXenon headlamps and LED daytime running lamps. The

    BiXenon headlamps come with LED High Performance tail lights, framed by the

    muscular lines of the shoulders which extend into the rear end. A dramatic silhouette

    subdivided by three prominent character lines gives the CLA its masculine aura. The

    lines create the impression of tensed muscles which are accelerating the car even when

    at rest.

    Interior Design

    The exterior's progressive, sporty appearance is continued inside the vehicle. High

    grade materials and first class workmanship meet the high expectations of an

    extraordinary sedan. The interior additionally derives a very special quality feel from the

    selection of high quality materials and the available combinations of materials. The

    adoption of design features such as the resumption of the dynamic sideline in the door

    panels forms a link between the outside and inside.

    With its large glazed areas, the Panoramic sunroof ensures a particularly bright and

    welcoming ambience in the interior. It also responds automatically to rain: If it is open, it

    automatically moves to the raised position to prevent rain from entering the interior. The

    Light and Sight package provides the interior with a classier feel and optimum

    visibility. The illuminated door sill panels with MercedesBenz lettering and additional

    lightings in the doors greet the driver and passenger when entering the CLAClass.

    New Generation Multimedia system

    A completely new multimedia generation offers intuitive operation in the new CLA-

    Class, combining entertainment, information and communication. Elaborate animation

    and visual effects present all the functions in a clear and highly attractive manner. The

    infotainment system also offers Mercedes-Benz Apps such as Mercedes-Benz Radio,

    which will enable you to listen to several Mercedes-Benz mixed tapes while driving.

    With user-friendly navigation, precise map data and excellent route guidance, the

    Garmin MAP PILOT brings all the familiar benefits of a Garmin navigation system to

    the Audio 20 CD. It is all done by simply inserting an SD card with navigation software

    and map data sets.

    The CLAClass is equipped with a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system,

    which provides a spectacular audio experience to our customers. Reverse parking and

    manoeuvring is made much easier and safer by the reversing camera, which is offered

    as standard on the CLA.

    Smart Safety: Advanced Assistance Systems

    The CLA has extensive safety features which cover all four phases of the integral

    safety concept at Mercedes-Benz. The robust body shell structure with its rigid

    passenger cell also contributes to the high level of safety. Ease of repair was also

    taken into account during the development of the CLA. The body and detachable parts

    are designed for low susceptibility to damage and low repair costs.

    Safe Driving: The CLA is available with numerous high-quality assistance and safety

    systems which support the driver and reduce his/her workload. With new and extended

    functions, in addition to the standard safety features such as ABS, BAS, ESP, ASR,

    Hill Start Assist etc., the CLA-Class is designed to guard against danger and initiate

    protective measures. High structural safety of the body-shell, six airbags and other

    restraint systems provide the best possible protection. Innovative sensor technology

    is applied to coordinate and activate the safety systems according to the given situation.

    These have ensured that the car has a 5 star rating from EURO NCAP.

    Assistance systems such as ATTENTION ASSIST warn the driver when it detects

    typical signs of drowsiness in his/her steering behavior while STEER CONTROL can

    assist the driver with corrective steering action in critical situations. Other systems like

    tyre pressure monitoring system continuously monitors the inflation pressure of all four

    tyres and tyre repair kit TIREFIT enables the vehicle to continue to the nearest

    workshop. A spare wheel with jack ensures mobility in the event of total tyre damage.
