A production version will likely be unveiled in January 2014 at the North American

International Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

The Mercedes Benz CL-Class might be history but only a few will be disappointed after seeing its

spiritual successor, the all-new Mercedes Benz S-Class Coupe which has made its debut today at

the Frankfurt Motor Show.

E visio ed as a top-of-the-li e odel , the o ept appears to e pretty u h produ tio -

ready and thankfully it looks considerably different than its four-door siblings. The front fascia

adopts a more aggressive appearance while the back is now home to sleek new horizontal

taillights. The elegant and curvy lines of the regular Mercedes Benz S-Class have been taken to a

whole new level as the Coupe concept looks gorgeous from just about any angle.

The muscular wheel arches host redesigned 21-inch wheels separated between the axles by a

generous 2945mm wheelbase. The S-Class coupe concept is 5050mm long, 1985mm wide and

Moving inside we notice a slightly modified layout with a white instrument panel and a more

sculpted shape of its lower area thanks to the repositioning of the airbags. The ventilation

nozzles are manufactured from white aluminum with ceramic-like inserts and brushed/polished

aluminum. The two 12.3-inch screens have an 8:3 aspect ratio and are slimmer than the ones in

the regular S-Class. Other interior highlights include aluminum door panels, supple calfskin for

the seats and instrument panel, together with a handmade silk carpet and a hand-woven silk

roofline.

It benefits from the Intelligent Drive technology comprising of two stereo cameras providing a

3D view of the area up to approximately 50 meters in front of the car with support for object

dete tio a d ove e t. It also o itors the ar’s surrou di gs over a ra ge of up to 500 meters and will detect surface undulations to help the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension

make the necessary changes to avoid a bumpy ride.

A production version will likely be unveiled in January 2014 at the North American International

Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
