Mercedes-Benz drives in the ‘World Car of the Year’ in its dynamic and powerful AMG version; launches the performance legend Mercedes-AMG C 63 S
With around 40,000 units sold, the C 63 AMG in the 204 series was the best-
selling AMG model
AMG C 63 S is the 10th AMG model to be launched in India - the highest in
the performance segment for any luxury car brand
AMG C 63 S further expands the model range of the new C-Class which is

The comprehensive range of C-Class models offered by Mercedes-AMG is
aimed at discerning customers with an enthusiasm for top performance
and the fascination of motorsports
The hand built new AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine delivers an output of
375 kW (510 hp) at 5500- 6250 rpm and a torque of 700 Nm at 1750-4500 rpm
Segment leading Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 4 seconds
AMG C 63 S consumes 32% less fuel than the predecessor and is the most
economical eight-cylinder car in the high-performance car segment
Intelligent Assistance Systems now also raise occupant safety to a whole
new level

New Delhi: Continuing its acceleration in the fast lane of performance motoring in India,
Mercedes-Benz today launched the new generation of its highest selling AMG model
ever, the all new AMG C 63 S. The tenth high performance AMG model to be launched
in the Indian market, the AMG C 63 S augments the model range of Mercedes-Benz’s
best-seller and the ‘2015 World Car of the Year’, the new C-Class, even further. The
new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S is a powerful high-end rear-wheel drive sports car powered
by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, developing an output of 375 kW (510 hp), making the
V8 model the most powerful car in its segment. The new AMG C 63 S was launched by
Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented on the

like never before. I am quite certain that the driving dynamics, agility and sportiness of

the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S enthralls with its fulminating power delivery and highly
emotional engine sound, attributes which every AMG customer cherishes. In terms of
output, torque and fuel consumption, the C 63 S takes the peak position in its segment.
It once again demonstrates Mercedes-Benz’s technological leadership in the high-
performance segment. We clearly have a winner with the new AMG C 63 S, off or on

customers. The AMG C 63 S will play a key role in strengthening Mercedes-Benz’s
strong presence in the performance car segment.”
The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S continues the success story of its predecessors, the C
63 AMG, C 55 AMG, C 32 AMG, C 43 AMG and C 36 AMG. With sales of around
40,000 units globally, the C 63 AMG presented in 2007 is also the best-selling AMG
model to date. The brand-new C 63 S, the top V8 model in the C-Class, is a seamless
follow-on.
Performance:
The rated output for the AMG C 63 S is 375 kW (510 hp) at 5500-6250 rpm, while the
torque is 700 Nm at 1750-4500 rpm. The C 63 S Saloon is also the most economical
eight-cylinder car in the high-performance segment. The AMG RIDE CONTROL sports
suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, the mechanical rear axle
locking differential and the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes raise the
driving dynamics to a new level.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programmes
The transmission plays a major part in the direct and sporty character of the new
Mercedes-AMG C 63 S. The great variability of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed
sports transmission is shown by the wide variety of transmission modes. There is a

The “twin blade” radiator grille with AMG lettering lowers the vehicle’s visual
centre of gravity
The rear end diffuser insert with three fins is a feature carried over from
motorsport
The two chrome-plated twin end pipes of the AMG sport exhaust system are
perfectly integrated into the diffuser

Head-up display:
The head-up display is a new feature standard in the AMG C 63 S. It projects important
information such as vehicle speed, RACETIMER, navigation information, upshift
indicator etc. onto the windscreen. The special head-up windscreen with its wedge-
shaped laminated foil eliminates double images produced by reflections on the outer
and inner boundary surfaces of the windscreen.
The virtual colour display measuring 21 x 7 cm appears to float on the bonnet at
a distance of about two meters from the driver
A light sensor located near the top edge of the roof automatically adjusts the
brightness of the head-up display to the exterior lighting conditions
Brightness levels of 10,000 cd/m² plus can be achieved on sunny days. Because
the contrast ratio is better than 1000:1, the system produces a high-quality
display even in the dark.
