The Cleantech Open, with the support of a truly remarkable nationwide corps of mentors, runs the world’s largest accelerator for cleantech startups. We find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, envi-ronmental and economic challenges.

Join us as a generalist mentor if you have extensive experience of building a high-growth technology company from the ground up. We’re excited to hear from you if you have:

Specialists are reached through a searchable database, and may be contacted by any of the startups looking for your help with specific questions.

Generalists are assigned to an individual startup or two.

Raised investment capital from angels, venture firms or strategic investors

Signed a joint development agreement or licensing agreement

Worked with startups to refine their business model, identify markets, refine their value proposition, and and develop their go-to-market strategy

Gained third-party validation of a company’s product or technology

Built and executed a successful early-stage sales strategy1

Deep technical expertise that could help improve technologies in one or more of the Cleantech Open’s technology categories

Five years or more specialist business experience in an area relevant to high-growth startups (e.g. startup marketing, sales, finance, PR)

There are mentoring opportunities throughout the nation. The eight regions of the Cleantech Open and increasing levels of local activity in the major metropolitan ar-eas give you the opportunity to mentor startups close to you, and further afield The Cleantech Open is coming to a cinema near you, if we’re not there already.

And as the Cleantech Open grows internationally, we’ll be looking for mentors to help cleantech startups everywhere from Bangalore to Bogata2.

er you’re matched or not, we encourage you to let us know you’re available next year.

Mentors may not take a financial interest in or accept a job with a Cleantech Open startup company for the duration of the accelerator. You may not sign a non-dis-closure agreement or any other agreement on behalf of the Cleantech Open, but you may choose to sign an NDA on your own behalf. You must in all cases respect the confidentiality of your mentees. You may not be both a mentor and a judge, and mentors must not communicate with judges concerning any aspect of their mentee companies or their technologies.
